He's just developing beautifully isn't he. Started out edge backrower from memory, now he's dominating in the middle, and looking better all the time. Every carry now you know he's going to make a few yards extra than the benchmark. And he's got his offload. Just a great re-signing, so much more upside, and absolutely we would have got him for less than he could have demanded on the open market. But he is such a quality player, and in every interview I've heard he just loves the club. Unbelievably good news.

Just let us enjoy this for god's sake, and go start another thread to whinge about all the bad retention that you know so much about.

you've got a winning way about you but all good. you're passionate. and yeah, when we talk about recruitment/retention we have to acknowledge that this season is a testament to how well we've recruited. i was in favour of the roosters pathways program but felt the devil was in the detail. it was a good idea but needed to be implemented with diligence. seems like we've chosen good, tough footy players and coached them well. they'll help us win comps

without a doubt. that said it's a crime that loz doesn't pick him for origin 3. come on loz, as an old roosters fan, help us out!

And I thought JWH was irreplaceable.

Can teach the origin props a thing or two.

I hope he got a good pay rise.

Politis said in an interview two years ago, “He going to be a superstar”.

Are you serious? Just don’t comment
I was only commenting about it’s great to retain a good player as we have recently made some bad calls to early in the piece
eg re signed Spencer after 3 games

              just go worry about yourself

Loz doesn’t solely pick the ori9in team because it’s done in conjunction with Ch 9 and the other media partnerships to gain further revenue traction in the 3 weeks leading up to it up and post game. A totally contrived series and Klein’s last performance indicative of how the media control the game. The uproar on Klein deservingly so but the underlying agenda mostly ignored.

Brilliant news!! Fahu is one who is just going from strength to strength and I imagine would have been a target of many clubs including the Bears. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a bit of hair envy as well

Hopefully Foketi , Marky Mark, and Hugo are our next re-signings.

Foketi has superstar written all over him and looks to be something really special, and we need to lock him down long term.

Mark Nawaqanitawase is quite simply a freak, and he is going to get better and better the more games he gets under his belt.

Personally, I think Hugo is the perfect foil for Sammy Walker, he's a big body and has the big boot we have been looking for.

Add in Blake Steep, Beniah Ielho, Xavier and De La Salle Va'a, and Siua Wong and the 80's song from Timbuk 3 springs to mind (The Future's so bright, I gotta Wear Shades )

**And on the other end of the spectrum we have Captain Teddy, who like a fine wine just gets better and better with age!!

***And I will be praying for Toops to play at least 21 more games for us and score 29 more tries - to become the first NRL player in history to play 300 games and score 200 tries!!

He's an exciting player, not only will he continue to develop within the Roosters but also he'll likely be a regular in the New Zealand national team set up for the foreseeable future which means he'll learn and develop there also.

I remember that interview with uncle Nick and I must admit at the time I didn't see it and am happy to be proved wrong. The old maestros crystal ball is still shining bright like a diamond.
Whytes footwork at the line for a man his size is very impressive and he is slowly improving in defence and not getting caught out on our line as often. His footwork is reminiscent of SST and he has become our forward leader and he's become the main man in the pack.

Makes me wonder whether this is the sorta thing that Robbo offloaded Young and Brandon early for.

Robbo copped shyte for his stance on looking after Easts juniors but our pipeline of players is now looking pretty sweet!!! Couldn't have imagined this pre-season.

In marathon lingo it feels like we've banked a solid negative split for the first half of the season. Only 4 more Parkruns to go now boys!!!
I’d be shocked if we had Marky Mark after next season. A home World Cup would be too much to pass up on and they’d likely offer him big money.

Doesn’t mean he won’t come back though, he seems to have found a home with us. Hope I’m wrong and he re-signs.
