  • Cowboy charged for Wong maiming

Lawton charged and facing 2 or 3 weeks. Like the NButch incident, no penalty or sin binning at the time.

There was another one in the Panthers game when DWZ was injured from a hip drop. No sin bin, no penalty, nothing to see.

It appears that when Sutton and Klein are refereeing All opposition players have carte blanche to maim our players in a way which at the time of happening can be construed as subjective
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Hahaha the Master Blaster would do a better job - at least it would be impartial.

What a joke. Another one of our players injured from foul play and no penalty or sin bin or anything at the time. No half time analysis or scrutiny or trial by media on Fox sports either. Imagine if it was one of our players. They’d never shut up about it.

Karl Lawton wasn’t penalised on field for his contact on Siua Wong, but has been handed one of the three highest-graded charges of year from NRL. Wong facing 4-6 weeks out with medial tear.

Better news for Sandon Smith, he’s been cleared of injury. #NRL

Like mentioned previously if it were jwh or rads. Gawnski. I think jwh was the last cannonball charged

The Riff get special treatment. Always do.

Yet again no penalty or report during the game and it takes one of our players doing an MCL to get any justice. Just a completely unnecessary and reckless tackle that has cost us one of our most consistent players at a vital part of the season.

He's very sneaky Lawton, he doesn't use much force but jams right in on the knee (this wasn't the only time he did it yesterday).....it's a cheap shot as far as I'm concerned, there is no way for the man in possession to defend or prepare for it. It would be nice if the referees actually clamped down on things like this rather than pedantic penalties for standing half a cm offside.

I remember a couple from Lindsay which resulted in a penalty, suspension and lots of chat on Fox about how low and dangerous an act it was. Which it is, but only Roosters players apparently.

Rule has been very clear for a long time, 3rd man coming in needs to hit above the knees. Alternatively pick the ankles to topple the player.

How the bunker missed this in 4K slow-mo replays whilst play was paused for over a minute is baffling.

And yes - we received the equal fewest number of penalties/set restarts again this weekend. Still ranked 17th for number of penalties/set restarts received.

I think the current rule interpretation is tough on the players. These tackles happen nearly every ruck and only get noticed when a player gets injured. The only answer I can think is that a legs tackle can only be first man in, or simultaneous. It would mean a change to how players are coached now obviously.
