Benny sure is looking good but that’s always hard to know if a young kid is going to cut it in the NRL from a Flegg and a handful of NSW cup games as was the case when we signed Robson. Looks like next year bench is going to be pretty small with both Conner and Benaiah certainly deserving of two spots. Some people say Conner could go to 13 but with Rads and Foketi I think they are better suited to that spot.

Despite the thrashing we handed the Cowboys, the Roosters ruck defence isn’t aggressive enough and there was too many metres made through the ruck in the 1st half - the ruck defence is too loose.
The better teams will punish us.
Yeah just too passive for my liking, I don’t know if we just clocked off being so far ahead, but I would like to see good line speed and gang tackling, Robson can’t come soon enough he will definitely add starch in the middle, he’s good at slowing down the PTB.

Expectations were low at the start of the year but having seen the competition and the potential of our side, missing the 8 this year will still be extremely disappointing. Being completely unbiased I genuinely think with a bit more polish we’d be sitting in the Top 4 as we’ve thrown away some wins (Souffs, Dogs, Raiders, even Tits game). Really only 2 games all season that we were never in (Rd 1 and 2nd Riff game).

I’ve said it many times but I genuinely think we are so lucky to have been supporting the club through the Robinson era.

He loves the club, the players all love and treat the club with respect, there’s very rarely any off field drama, he’s helped develop club legends like Cordner, Friend, Aubussson, JWH, Tupou & Tedesco, he likes to play an aggressive brand of footy with freedom in attack and he’s delivered us 3 premierships, 4 minor premierships & 2 World club challenges. Only missing the finals once in his 12 seasons and making the top 4 in 8 out of those 12 seasons.

2021 is still his most impressive campaign in my opinion, coaching us to 5th with a mass injury toll and no lower grade competitions to feed in replacements due to Covid it’s one of the greatest feats of coaching I’ve seen in my time following the game.

He is not faultless, but no coach is.

That’s what you’re going to get with 5-6 rookies in the side though, a lack of polish.

Changing expectations is a credit to Trent Robinson because he’s got most of these rookies playing well above where they should be at this stage of their career, but they are still not seasoned pro’s. That only comes with time.

They signed Robson but would you sign him now with a combo of Connor Watson and Benaiah Loelu and ditto DCE with Hugo Savala and Sandon Smith.

                I wouldn't.

Agree, I think regarding Robson 4 years may be too long of a deal.

Holbrook deserves a mention too, our attack is humming right now.

I've been going to start a thread on Holbrook for a while. I've got no doubt he is the unsung hero with our attack.

The Robbos good, Robbos bad threads that pop up alternately depending on whether we win or lose on the weekend is always interesting.

An old mate I talk footy with is always quick to remind me Coaches get too much credit when the team wins, and too much blame when they lose.

If we make the top 8 we'll cause some problems.

Robbo only once has one coach of the year 2013. He should have won it in 2020 and deserves to win it in 2025 regardless of where the team finishes in the engineered tv scheduled comp.

Definitely. Nobody will want to play us, I think Penriff and us are the only two teams that could make the 8 and not the Top 4 but still go deep (prelim or greater).

I would’ve given it to him in 2021 for sure. Ran 5th and nearly made the Top 4 with what was effectively a reserve grade side by the end of the year.

I think Seibold won it during one of the years we won the comp either 18 or 19. Says everything you need to know about the legitimacy of that award lol

we're no certainties to even make the 8 but, all going well, top 4 isn't impossible. bulldogs will make it, raiders with their byes are pretty much guaranteed, storm look likely but the warriors look a bit wobbly.
we're unlikely to make the 4 but just saying that the warriors are no certainties
