    This.
I thought overall that the Roosters were somewhat lucky to win.
Knights made more yardage in attack, but couldn’t finish us off.
If we cannot control the ruck, our team will get rolled by the more fancied teams in the competition.
When you are defending in your own red zone, the cracks inevitably appear , and the other teams will eventually get over your tryline.
The Roosters have plenty to work on, even with the SOO players coming back.

I guess young Rodwell will play before Origin 3.
can't have been too many times in world sport that someone plays against a team one week and then for it the next but it looks alright to me. dom's solid performance might have been the difference between winning and losing in a close game like that.
credit to dom's professionalism and credit to the players and coaches for creating an environment that inspired a performance like that from a player who'd been told he wasn't in our best 17

Just on the quiet, that try was a little dodgy, take the luck as it comes.

Petty response - mmm calling me dishonest again I see - anyway the truth below

Oh my just over the half the season has been completed and who knows where teams will finish at seasons end - quite early to he calling top 8 finishes of teams irrespective of where they are placed when they play other teams with the number of games to go which is either 10 or11 games for sides

                The facts are

Roosters average 24 for and 26 against
Knights 14 for and 19 against

Can you tell us all how the Roosters didn't score 24 and concede 26 or the Knights score 14 and concede 19- As that is their averages for and against this season so far.

So anyone with any knowledge of the game would know it would not be a cake walk for either side as games are not won on comp ladder positions nor on for and and against averages - It's won on the day i.e the game itself

You sound like you got the raw side in a debate question and you are just making up BS.

                Just stop while you're behind.

                    • Brain nailed it, important win in the context of the season and the trajectory of this group for the rest of the season and coming years.

We have lost several games in which we were the better team this season and the officials made it very hard for us to win last night.

Ugly win but these kind of wins can be a massive confidence boost for a young raw team and a huge boost to the morale, and they already seem like a really tight bunch so could do wonders for the belief these guys have....

Onwards and upwards to the next game.

                          • Excellent defensive game by both seriously depleted sides. The pleasing aspect for the Tricolours was the ongoing consistency of the younguns which shows the value of the Academy pathway. Newcastle, too, has some impressive youth coming through. I thought that Son of Horace had as terrific dig on the left which he had firing all game. Unfortunate that he seems to be such an unfortunate personality.

Lucky win? Possibly, though the Bunker is infamous for its pedantry so Wong's try must have passed its exacting scrutiny. 9/10 times any messy touch of the ball in those circumstances is a k/o but for once cooler heads seemed to prevail.
