Sorry if I offended you petal. Now go and take some cement pills.
Don't go to the Off topic section then mate. Of the 6 or so contributors there, if a couple don't like you they will find offence and call it out. Geez, how times have changed from the old Wall and even earlier Chookpen days...

Also the thread is misleading, the Roosters did offer Strange a contract, just the Raiders offered more & with a more direct path to first grade as we had Keary & Walker at the time. The club did not "let him go".

As Thirteen said, you can't keep them all.
I predict he and Katoa to be the next gems
excellent running game, defence brilliant and polished skills
could easily play origin in the next couple of years
I can’t find any faults in him

Probably his age made a difference...well (shrugging shoulders)....if he was in his mid to later 30's another story.

Katoa yes he is seriously talented, I think Strange's ball playing & vision falls short. And appreciate I'm being super critical talent but we are talking about elite prospects vs good prospects here.

I think its too early in his career to be putting "ceilings" on someone like young Ethan. It suggests there is a finite limitation to what he will achieve, but that's just opinion not fact. His trajectory is very positive. Jack once said if a player shows me just a little improvement each week, he'll get a start every time. Cos I don't know when he's going to stop.

To their credit, this was before Hugo and Sandon have played so well as this year has progressed. I guess we must have priorised Sandon ahead of Ethan. I know Ricky loves him and wants him there long term now.
He’s a tough competitor to boot.

Yes agree for a 20 year old great def and attacking running the ball
ball playing and vision will be the final piece to him becoming great
If he plays outside a good organising half though he should be fine

strange and katoa could be long term nsw blues halves

Katoa carved the Dragons up this round.

He plays with a level of maturity that's beyond his years and knows exactly when to pull the trigger.

Love watching Strange play. Has come on heaps under Ricky and improving all the time. One that got away? Maybe but we have some good halves of our own and they won't all fit either in coming years.

Love watching Strange and Katoa play, but like a few have said on here we have enough talent in our own backyard to cover 6 and 7 for the next decade..

On the other hand you look at a halfback like Kyle Flanagan, deary deary me

Funny how we sacked the comp’s leading point scorer after putting up cricket scores with him — then spent the next season playing musical chairs in the halves and wondering why the structure fell apart. Robbo clearly loves a running half, but at some point you’ve got to ask: was it really Flanno that was the problem, or just the scapegoat?

                                Kyle Flanagan is garbage.

Plus he wasn't helped by the fact that he was by far the most unpopular player in the squad.
