I would not be surprised if the Hugo and Sandon is the best half pairings as they do have a history of playing together from Junior Rep days.

Sam could well be the next released or moved on - If Dom Young was a high value signing and the club went all out to sign him and now moved him on why not Sam Walker as well especially if they sign DCE.

I cannot see how a DCE/Sam Walker combo will work - A chalk and cheese combo

I would say Hugo's progression in the NRL space has even surprised Coach Robinson

    You so funny

While I don't think Walker is released or moved on, you make some fair points King.

He walks back into a team that is very different to last year. No Keary, no JWH, different outside backs on his right. He has to start again a bit with the combos and sync. We killed it in attack last year with record stats and finished the season with the best differential. Largely due to two gun halves setting the platform and creating space, occasionally playing together not just left and right. We were a threat across the park, and every ruck.

I honestly don't think Sam alone would have made that much difference to our win/loss ratio so far this year. Give him time and cut some slack. Big credit to what both Hugo and Sandon have done together post Chad, however. They have been outstanding.

Looking at the most recent Roosters training photos white shirts looks like the main team with blue shirts reserves. Walker definitely there as with Benny.
maybe we might even see Benny at 9 with Connor playing off the bench 9 and 13.

              mmm NO!

No way Sam is moved on, although I do agree that Robbo would be pleasantly surprised at Hugo’s form this year so much so that if he was to make a decision he might decide to not sign DCE and go with Hugo but no way he would be moving on Sam.

You are delusional if you think he will be released.

100% Sammy will be straight back in next week, as long as he comes through this weekend unscathed he’ll slot in at 7 for sure

Sandon Smith is NSW Cup standard, Hugo is a rookie, Sam Walker backs into the starting 17 as soon as he's ready to.

DCE and Walker would be a great combo, DCE a more structured and calm half whilst Walker loves playing eyes up footy, Walker is a decent runner as well which DCE isn't so much anymore.

Pretty much what Huge-o has been doing, but with better D and longer licking game.

I wouldn't know about his licking game but he does have a longer kick than DCE and I agree much better at defence.

                          Nope.

DCE has kicked for 5497 metres this year with 228 tackles and 23 misses.

Hugo has kicked for 2790 metres this year with 190 tackles and 21 misses.

How many minutes at halfback each player?

Please explain to me how those stats tell me whether a player is a longer kicker or a better defender?

Well you see metres gained with kicks is usually a good indicator of who kicks long and well, as for defending you have tackles made and tackles missed, DCE has made more and missed around the same. If Hugo is better than DCE 7 games in he should go play 5/8 for NSW, remember DCE was the second best half on field in game 1 of Origin.

My thoughts on Sandon as a starter are pretty clear....but I do like him as a 14 and he should get the nod
