Ive been saying for a while now that you surely wouldn't move Hugo from 7, Sam has to be 5/8 IMO. Sams off the cuff & not structured keep Hugo as the general I say.
I thought you played in the halves.
The only reason Sammy would play 6 next week is to ease him back into things otherwise he’s our 7 moving forward.
Clueless Mickie lol

Sam is not a traditional general IMO like me & Hugo are/were.
Let me ask you this if DCE comes to the Chooks what position do you think he will play & what position will Sam play?

You'll either work it out or watch it all naturally unfold.

Sam played the first 40 - looked like he was instructed to take it easy. Nothing stands out in his game today in attack. At one point took an intercept on our own 20 and ran probably 30/40 meters in what looked second gear before offloading to Rodwell in no better position.
As R6 said the most impressive part of his game today was his defensive work - he was marked up against Bryce Cartwright and handled him very well.
He got through the game which I assume was the first step in a return to first grade. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has another hit out in that grade before returning to firsts. Depends how he’s pulled up but looked 100% at the end of his half.

1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Those rumours are now old!
Things have changed since we reached out following our poor start to the season.
Sammy will be our long term 7. Hugo imo will be our 6 for the foreseeable future.
Longterm and crystal ball material I see Wishard partnering Walker.

As The Lip said Sam only played the first 40. Without anything spectacular it was a good hit out. Ball handling in the first 25 mins made it hard. Would have been nice to be at the money end more but wasn’t to be.
Some good support there. Robbo was standing up the back at the start, Gussy was there and we were sitting directly in front of Spencer. MAubs was there with his kids. Could have been others who we didn’t see. Saw Jason Ryles when we were leaving.
4pm Tuesday for Team List Tuesday the next step.
