Actually no. I think defending our tryline with two small halves is a recipe for failure. The inability to have decent field position with a long kick just compounds that problem.

The recipe for success is far more complicated.

A big kick isn’t the main recipe for success, BUT it is a piece of the puzzle to win a comp, & that was probably the last thing left to our piece of puzzle because we covered everything else.

I think it can be a piece of the puzzle, but there are multiple strategies & ways to win a game/comp and that’s what makes all sports so great.

We won back to back comps with Keary & Cronk. Neither of whom had very big kicks.

I think there’s no doubting we are a better side at the moment with Savala’s long kicking game because it’s compensating for other deficiencies we have as a team currently that means we are constantly kicking from our own half. Remove those deficiencies, kick from more advantageous positions more regularly and his long kicking game will become less valuable to the team.

Great news on Sammy who will help turn our season around.

Eliminate/reduce the silly unforced errors and this team will start lapping the opposition.

Unforced errors in our yardage zone are costing us games.

Savala long kicking game. Sammy Walker short kicking game. Happy days!

It does help us against teams that have long kickers - Cleary, Moses, Reynolds, Hunt to name a few

He keeps making several points and you keep making it sound he's only talking about the kicking issue...now that's narrow minded

Can’t wait for Sunday at Kellyville. I will be there to support Sam. Went to NS oval for his last comeback and so many fellow team mates were there including Robbo and Nick and other Board members. I would expect the same this weekend. Good luck Sammy.

Stoked to see Sammy back! I think it will however take him some time to get his confidence back before he’s playing at a level near where he was when he did the injury. I don’t expect him to be the transformation in the team we are needing straight away. Some people seem to take a full season back playing to get back to where they were. Since he’s game isn’t a power game hopefully Sam is able to bounce back quickly compared to the norm.

I think it will be Savala - a bigger body and better kicker and defender

Could well be. Fark Sandon played well on the weekend though... or was it just me? Thought he had a blinder.
