  • Speculation that Sam Walker will be named to play NSW Cup this weekend

Foxsports just gave an update from the Roosters Emergency Services Cup promotional media appearance today suggesting Sam Walker could be named today to play NSW Cup this weekend with the hope of being ready to play the Knights in round 15 after the bye.

Also Whyte at Nat Butcher are tracking to be available for round 15 as well.

I’m thinking we will string a few wins together with Sam back running the show interesting to see who plays 5/8

Angus just praised our kicking game on the back of Hugo's performances. Said it has enabled us to pin teams down in their corners and make it easier on all the rest of our players to defend.

After hearing that, there is no way Hugo will be dropped when Sammy comes back from the sounds of it.

I saw an interview the other with Teddy I think it was who spoke about Savala training in just about every position in the off season and the value of his utility ability. I'd love to see Savala get a crack alongside Sammy but the Walker-Smith combination has been very good in the few times they played together

Whatever happens it's nice to finally be back in to a position of having options.

Surely Robbo can see the value of a long clearing kicker who is also a better defender.

If all that mattered in footy was a long kicking game Matt Burton would be captain of every rep team and the highest paid player in the game

True. It is not all that matters. However, the long clearing kick and bigger-bodied defence is a significant upgrade on the last five years of failure with two small halves and no decent clearing kick.

Putting down the last 5 years of results down to the length of kicks is an incredibly narrow minded and simplistic way to look at things.

I think you are trolling and cannot be that dumb to misinterpret two comments in a row.

The only dumb one here is the person who thinks that a big kick is the main recipe for success, jeez why didn't everyone in the league think of that? Matt Burton would be a premiership winner every year since he ticks all of your boxes to win
