Who is to blame?

For me the problems are easy to identify.

Problems in he past that we're not addressed were fixed slash funded by Nick.

The salary cap now being respected by all clubs means that we can't fudge with nicks funds.

We can however work on culture and management.

I feel the culture at Bondi is appalling.
Has been for years.

I'm calling people like Ron Jones and Keith Steel as infinitely more integral to the survival of the Roosters for so long.

If money was the most important thing then we should have got Percy Galea to fund us in the 70's then George Freeman (a Roosters fan) to pay our way.

The adviser has been so- so through the years this is Goulds doing Nick is the paying officer fall guy.
It appears there are not enough smart men to run footy clubs these days only a few.

The issue is Poltis and his love of the club. He's too close.

He's done some wondefrul things like keeping us a float, getting Gus and Freddy, telling Piggins to get farked when he came crawling for a merger. He even had the guts and decency to step aside and champion the ARLC. The problem is this has lead to a closed shop football board of Nick scyophants who step over each other to mutter "Yeeeeees Niiiiiiick" regardless of the merits of the idea. Nick has some great ideas and some utter steamers, but the "Yeeeeees Niiiiiiicke" cadre of spivs are lap dogs and won't dare go against the vision.

The other problem with Nick is he's a man of his word. The handshake deal with Bennett was from Nick's persepctive a done deal, ironclad. The caveat Bennett put on it came after that handshake which came about a fortnight before it leaked from memory. We had by then sacked Stuart, Flannagan and a bunch of support staff fully expecting Bennett to bring his as per the deal. We also go out and poach O'Sullivan from the storm expecting to feed Bennett young guns for years to come. So when Bennett appeard on tele in a kiss and make up with Cullen announcing a two year extension, Nick panic'd and rushed out and grabbed Anderson = disaster. Panic, white night Freddie = disaster. Deep breath, Smith and Son = great idea. 4 years = not so great.

Nick has a direct line to the captain = extremely bad idea. Nick gives players his word and they take advantage of it, Anasta is a classic example. Nick has obviously given Braith his word his can captain and play 6 all year, there is no other reason for his continued selection. The most recent Perrett debacle, he was given a release then he wasn't, Smith didn't know what was going on, that's Nick interfering where he shouldn't be.

Nick wants what's best for the Roosters, no one can deny that. He just needs to take a step back, hire the best people and sit back and enjoy the ride. I just hope his next decision is a good one. At least the law of averages is on my side.

Piss him off!

In his defense he only took over being chairman in 1994 he was only a sponsor from 1975 dude.I love the bloke as you know but I'm starting to question our clubs direction when he keeps muppets like Smith,Elliott and Noyce I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he can turn it around but only if he can lure Bellamy to the club.

The qualification i would make is that the best decision he could make for us is probably to step aside himself, as he doesn't seem capable of letting the coaches do their proper job, regardless of who is in charge.

Nicks problem was trusting Gus he's always wanted him to come back and be involved with the club but Gus kept knocking him back he then helped Nick by getting Smith to the club a decision he'll live to regret no doubt.
