        This.

I almost started a thread but who needs another DCE thread.

This group of young players coming through are special! We need to invest heavily in our youth and not some Manly reject who's looking to top up his super for a year and then p*ss off. I'm quietly confident that the club will make the right decision.

Couldn't give a rats if DCE becomes an immortal or moves to Barcelona for all I care. It's nothing personal!

            1st Half

            Roosters 20 - Sharks 6

            Set completions - Roosters 68% (13/19) - Sharks 73% (14/19)
            Errors - Roosters 8 - Sharks 5
            Penalties Conceded - Roosters 2 - Sharks 5
Set Restarts Conceded- Roosters 2 - Sharks 1
            Missed tackles - Roosters 12 - Sharks 15

            Second Half

            Roosters 22 - Sharks 10

            Set completions - Roosters 82% (17/21) - Sharks 87% (18/21)
            Errors - Roosters 5 - Sharks 6
            Penalties Conceded - Roosters 6 - Sharks 2

Set Restarts Conceded- Roosters 1 - Sharks 0
            Missed tackles - Roosters 15 - Sharks 18

            Full Match

            Roosters 42 - Sharks 16

            Set completions - Roosters 75% (30/40) - Sharks 80% (32/40)
            Errors - Roosters 13 - Sharks 11
            Penalties Conceded - Roosters 8 - Sharks 7

Set Restarts Conceded- Roosters 3 - Sharks 1
            Missed tackles - Roosters 27 - Sharks 33
As an advocate of the theory that you can't win games unless you can complete at 80% why do you think we won today? And how were we 20pts to 6 dominant with a 68% completion rate?

            • That was one of the best Roosters wins I have witnessed.
A heroic defensive effort from the kids in the engine room.
Inspired by Rads in defence, and Teddy in attack.
Dont need DCE’s kicking game, when we have Savala’s
Thought Dom had a pretty good game- the knockers should keep quiet for a week.
Keep the kids, and watch a new Roosters dynasty unfold.
For the vanquished , I thought KL Iro gave us plenty of bother- he’s a big, fast and elusive unit.

I’m still conflicted these young punks are great and will be phenomenal however we definitley started to drop off again the last 20 I think for a year DCE corrects that

                • After last weeks tough loss I had a feeling we’d be hard to beat this week. Well done Chooks

                  2: Tupou

They're definitely talented and have the right attitude. We've witnessed this on numerous occasions!

I get what your saying and it won't happen over night. The polish will come with more games, hard work and the right environment.

                    • Young guys put their stamp on this game. We don't need to go to market to buy anybody.

Great to see these young blokes taking their opportunities and just having fun.

What Gummies excuse just about at full strength.

For and against got a nice boost.

Forget completion rate in the second 40!

Just go out and try to put another 20 points on the board.
I posted this at half time. Completion rates mean diddly squat! It's pointless having 80% plus completion rate if your playing low risk footy and can't score enough points to win the game.

We shut shop against the Bulldogs in the second half and got punished.

The Roosters scored two tries from the last tackle kicks in their sets - Toops two tries. Not a usual situation based on set completion yardage when completing your sets, as usually, the 5th tackle kick is a ground-finding one to pin the opposition in their 10 and for them to ruck it out from the goal line. You are usually doing the same from your goal line on the opposition's end of a set kick.

High set completions are paramount, as we saw last week in the second half vs the Dogs with the Roosters up 14-0.

The Roosters lost possession on the first tackle and gave the Dogs an extra set on multiple occasions and eventually these errors (weight of possession) caught up with the Roosters D in defending these errors. Teams are unable to defend multiple sets continuously as, eventually, the opposition will capitalise on them as the Dogs did.

In this Roosters vs Sharks match, as per the NRL stats, both teams had the same number of sets in the match and each half - 40 each for the match, which is a very rare occurrence. The Sharks completed only 2 more sets in the match than the Roosters.

I work with someone related to a Sharks NRL player and they say these games are the ones Fitzy finds it hard to coach having spent 20 or so years at the Roosters as a player and assistant coach - Not down on the result if they lose
