Wow...thats an incredible achievement for Rob to gain SOO selection in his first year of first grade. What a future he has if he can stay sound.

Well done to the young lad. May have come earlier than we all expected but it will supercharge his game management experience.

He’s going to end up a good one for us.

dropping the ball over the line was one of those things that he'll never do again, but not spreading it to the right and bombing a try suggests he's probably not ready for origin. still, good luck to him - he's destined to belong at this level and he'll come back a more experienced player. great achievement to be selected at this stage of his career

Congratulations and all that but am I the only one who holds great fears for injury?

I mean given his past and limited NRL experience, putting his body through that level of football is pretty hardcore.

Congratulations to the young man. As for all our origin players I’d prefer they play for us than SOO, but all thoroughly deserved selections.

Toia sticks to his opposite in defence, tackles them , and doesn’t get beaten.
Occasionally , he will smash opponents in D.
              Thats why Slater wants him.
He is a far superior defensive player to Holmes, who gets beaten frequently.

Is he up against Latrell or Crighton?

Suspect it will be Mitchell as he is a left side specialist, and Crighton can play either side.

Happy for Rob. He has a bright future ahead if him. I'm a little surprised by his selection tbh. Personally I think it's early, but Billy obviously knows better.

And congratulations to Lindsay on his QLD selection. Hopefully both he and Rob stay fit. We will miss them both. Up the Blues!

                            Well done Rob.

Who would have thought at the end of last year once Manu and Suaalii left us we would have an arguably equal centre pairing in Toia and Billy. We all knew Billy’s potential but never did I think Toia would progress like he has. No way I thought he’d play origin this year.

Crichton is named at left centre which means Tioa will play opposite him. This is odd as Mitchell traditionally plays down the left edge and Crichton has played right centre for the Blues in the past.

Could be a Laurie Daley masterstroke tactic.
