Just finished Braith's podcast for this week, and while it isn't crazy news, I just wanted to mention that Braith and some other bloke on the podcast mentioned that Hugo is obsessed with the Chooks, loves Robbo and wants to go absolutely nowhere. They were adamant that he would be happy to play behind DCE for a year.

They also mentioned that Walker is apparently out of his skin to get back to playing. I can imagine he would be very excited to play with this hungry young side. Sounds like there is a lot of energy in the squad at the moment. Victor Radley also mentioned somewhere that this is the best dressing room he has been a part of.

My postman (who is well connected at the Chooks) has also said the same thing - Hugo absolutely LOVES the Roosters and HATES the Vermin!

That’s what I’m seeing on the field as well; lots of energy and a really happy squad. You can’t win a comp without both.

Turns out clearing out all those club legends last year was a masterstroke. Too many old blokes. Like Queensland last night.

It's a young man's game in the 6 again era.

In Teddy, Gus, Rads etc we have more than enough quality leadership.

We just have some indefatigable kids to keep up with the top teams (which I think we will, ladder position is irrelevant).

              I love him.
I just want Hugo to be our No 7
Obviously he is different to Sammy but he's much more of a halfback than Sam, he just has calmness & time on his hands, his tackling is also top notch. Its not just kicking he's good at he's good at everything.
Im telling you folks other clubs are going to come knocking on his door.

I don't think Hugo could be doing any more with the 7 on his back at the moment. He has exceeded my expectations. Was very good tonight in a tough game.

i've been on board since the first half v canterbury. a very steady player. great pass to teddy for the try today, defended great (although should have stayed in field for the hudson young try), and his big boot often relieved pressure

He's still got a bit to learn around organisation of the team and controlling the tempo of our play but that's being super critical of a sub 50 game halfback in his rookie season.

There's a really good skill set there that can be built on for sure, but I still get the feeling that Robinson will prioritise Sandon over Savala when Walker gets back.

Yeah I got that feeling previously, I think maybe Robbo has now changed his mind.
I prefer Hugo, he doesn't do the dopey things that Sandon does. Hugo seems more level headed and smarter.

Sandon was unbelievable on Anzac Day when he just played off the cuff, but we already have a guy that does that stuff, we don't need 2 of them.

I hope not because i could get used to a player with a long kicking game in our colours. Hugo has no problems in knocking over forwards when defending too. I think he is a perfect mix with Sam Walker

Hugo was picked above Sandon before Walker went down again.

He is miles ahead in my opinion.

And he is an Eastern Suburbs boy mfer.

Sam Walker could well be the odd one out - Hugo outkicks both and Sandon is the far better goal kicker

Both Sandon and Hugo came through the Roosters pathways and played as the halves combo so have the partnership already in place.

If you think that is far fetched think Dom Young -The Roosters went all out to sign him- The dinner at Robbo's and the hard sell to sign him - make him into a centre and what not.

18 months down the track he's shown the door.

Hugo made 45 tackles vs Knights - can you ever imagine Sam Walker making such numbers as a number 7 - not at all.

One hopes they do no make a major mistake and sign DCE - they do not need him at all.
