just my take mate , I think he's doing a good job with the youngsters and massive improvement since trials and round 1.

      your entitled to disagree.

        • Like I said ..plenty of heartaches before the season ends..I'm happy with the tracking of our rebuild..the difference in good to great is marginal.

          • What a fcuked up feeling this morning.
Had a wedding last so started watching the game around 12:30am. Couldn't sleep for hours after that game.
I think everyone who watched know we lost it apart from a few deluded Dogs supporters who think they will go all the way.
Not blaming anyone. It was a wet night and we made far too many errors.
We lost because of one moment. One moment doesn't happen and we win. Pick it.
            - the Toia dropped ball.
            - that extra two metres speed in Sandon.
            - the play after that. Why Toia ran inside instead of keep going wide.
            - the Marky dropped bombs.
            - the Ebutch dropped ball.
            - the Sandon flick sticks.

The players hurting most today would be Toia, Marky and Rads.

            Positives.
            - they had so much ball but our defence most of the night was solid against arguably one of the most potent attacking teams in the comp.
            - their tries came off our errors and tired defence. Nothing spectacular.
            - they are one of the best defensive teams yet our attack was and has been pretty good to break them several times. Sammy should make it even better.
            - we were the better team than the team leading the comp.

Although it's a sickening feeling today I'm still smiling knowing that we are so far ahead of where I thought we would be from that first game. Barring injuries we can still cause some damage this year. But I feel origin time might hurt us starting next week against probably a full strength Sharks.

            • Victor Radley has been great this year but that attempted tackle movement on Branson Xerri was scary bad, never seen an attempt like that from him before..Deary me.

              • Interesting that Dogs blokes I know day their best advantage was Collins and how Robbo left him out there too long.

                • We're very susceptible when the opposition turns the ball back inside. We've conceded numerous costly tries in this fashion. Players around the ruck have been caught out ball watching, switching off and being lazy.

                  • We should’ve won it last night, it stings knowing we had it within reach and couldn’t ice it.

I thought our opponents however had a great game plan - kick early and grind it out. I also thought we could’ve pressured MB more after he landed the first one we didn’t really help out Marky there.

Lindsay's lateral movement is the slowest in the comp. The Manly Ferry has a better turning circle. I'd be surprised if Slater picks him!

                        Odd game.

Are we better than we think or are they lucky to be top of the table and will go out in straight sets come finals time?

Nah mate they are the real deal imo. They had 6 out last night and also lost DSF early.

I hate to admit that because they are getting up there on the list of most hated because of their grubby fans. I came across a video of their fans last night giving it to Robbo in the coaches box once the full time whistle blew. You can literally hear them say “ Fark you dog “. I mean what the fark is the need to do that? Like I hate that fanbase I think. But on the field they are a good grinding, fit team.

                          • I also wanna give a mention to Rob on the edge. I don’t think I’ve seen a centre in our colours defend the way he has been for us in a long time. The dogs gave Xerri good early ball several times but he couldn’t beat our guy.

                            • I said here before the season started that Radley and Collins are our weak links due to their lack of speed and mobility. Both have had their use by date. It’s now Rads 8th season and I don’t see him getting any better. That last effort in letting in the match winner last night was unforgiveable. A game which we lost rather than the bullscum winning.

Does he get dropped to the bench for those efforts?
