    I’m with you.

At the time of DCE coming on the market I was all in. Watching the young guys - although they still have a long way to go - they will get there. I believe that trusting our youth will not only maintain team cohesion it will reap rewards at a fraction of his cost

    • I hope a deal isn’t done. We don’t need him.

        • If we lose next game it will be, “We need DCE”.

Our young halves are doing great but we have to remember that they are outplaying very average teams with very average halves combinations. Both the Dolphins and Dragons will be around that bottom 4 mark come end of year.

The club is looking to sign DCE not just to be competitive with these average sides but also to be competitive against sides like the Bulldogs, Melbourne, Penrith (When they become good again) and other top tier sides. Beating the lower end sides and choking against the top tier sides is the same spot we've been in from 2020 through to 2024.

Just because a deal hasn’t been done doesn’t mean the Club aren’t after him..

Webster also mentioned the Roosters were $1.03 odds to sign DCE..
Further on this, if a deal is done by the Roosters then nobody who will speak publicly is going to be told about it. DCE made it very clear in his interview that he wanted to focus on Manly and that a decision (Or announcement) would be made at the end of the year as to not disrespect or disrupt Manly, if the Roosters went off and announced it they could ruin the deal not to mention they'd look very unpro.

He said the Roosters had blown out to $1.10

              • I disagree slightly, when smith went off there was a bit of initial panic, nobody in control, with even Angus booting it up. Another Cronk-like master director on the pitch would be nice, in the context of keeping up with the comp

That's where Sam Walker would usually step in.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

                  • Let's hope the young guns in the halves keep playing well ... to the point where the club thinks twice about DCE !

                    • I personally feel the DCE deal has already been agreed upon and just waiting for the right time for him to announce it..

                      Just a gut feel..

I think it was done some time ago, that is why no one in the media is talking about it.

Most of the talk is that the deal was done when May was let go.

still hoping it’s not true, but why the hold up in the announcement? Does it need to be after June 30 for some reason?

Can we do a DCE backflip?

                              • We have a few options to partner Sammy. Obviously Hugo and Sandon are going very well now and Rodwell could well be ready for a crack after a few games of reggies next year and probably a very good chance in 2027. I am assuming the rumour of Elliot leaving is true even though he is signed until 2027.
Thinking about how much DCE will cost us for two years and there is always a risk that his form could drop off as well as losing a player or two. From our Top 17 one position we lack is an elite front row. We should use that money to have a crack at Haas from 2027. We can talk to him from 1st November (no doubt sooner) and the Broncos have cap issues.
