I have never been a fan of Egan Butcher, but have to admit he was very good last week..

    More of that please

Yeah he ran hard and straight with plenty of punch in his runs. He held onto the ball all game as well which I suppose has been his Achilles heel in the past.

      • Phil Gould:
"They're a club that always like bright, shiny things. They love their shiny toys and they love having the best around. And I guess when Daly Cherry-Evans comes on the market, it's more about no one else having him. They don't want anyone else to have them.

"But I don't see it. I don't see why they need him. I really don't … perhaps they think their best chance of winning games for their fans and their sponsors is to bring in Daly Cherry-Evans, who's a proven game winner.

"But, you know, it's going to be a hard call on the other boys."
I found these comments the most interesting from Phil Gould talking about the Chooks signing Daly.

I think there is a battle going on in the background between Nick’s Roosters and Gus’s Bulldogs. I suspected it before regarding Terrell May situation as possibly upgrading May to prevent the Bulldogs signing him, and these comments indicate as much. As the Bulldogs premiership credentials increase and not having a halfback for next year, Canterbury signing Daly to steer them Cronk-like into the finals makes sense.

Phil also mentions the sponsors which I’d never considered. As BYD are brand new naming right sponsors and are paying the richest contract of all NRL clubs, it makes a lot of sense to have the team performing well into the finals to maximise exposure.

Master you really expose yourself as someone that lacks even the basic knowledge of the game as you advocate signing any player for way above their market value. You have little knowledge of how the salary works, as me and others have had to inform you so many times about how it works. This can be easily looked up online via the NRL site.

I would fear for the survival of the Roosters club if you and others of your ilk on here had a say in how the football club operates. Fortunately, your views are never taken seriously.

The problem with social media, as they call it is giving people a voice when they wouldn't normally have one.

Not quite sure of the problem you have with expert opinions though from people that have played the game and coached the game at the highest level.

Never mind here's a Gordon Ramsay cooking class you may learn something from

Once again you've outdone yourself Sally and categorically proven that you are a Muppet.

          • If we sign DCE we will probably lose some of our good developing halves and find ourselves in a hole in a few years. With the shortage of halves around the NRL their managers will find them better paid contracts elsewhere. We have Sandon (next 2 years), Hugo (2 years), Elliot (3 years), Rodwell (4 years) in our top 30 and Tyson Walker. I dont think Sandon will want to be playing Cup in the future. Hugo Savala looks like he will be a pretty good half, I dont think he will stay to be a second choice lock. Im not sure what our plans for Rodwell are but if he lives up to his promise he should be ready for NRL in a few years. Tyson Walker would be also be looking at a chance of NRL in a few years.

            • On SEN Morning Glory this morning Andrew Webster said that he spoke with Nick yesterday & that Nick said that the Roosters were not after DCE & had made no offer to him.
              Take that as you will.

Nick is not a liar and has no reason to be coy about this . Please let this be true .

I would believe what he says. He doesn’t usually play mind games like Gus for instance.

Has Gus signed a halfback for next year? Gus might just be trying to remove the competition for teams to lower Daly’s asking price.

Poor Master time you give it up as we all know you're just being a pest on here as you post nothing but random comments which make zilch sense - Keep pretending you know anything and oh did you learn how to cook something at all after watching the Gordon Ramsay Video instead of buying takeaway. Probably cook pre-cooked frozen food using Chef Mike.

                          • Every week the young halves are proving they are our future. I was 50/50 about getting DCE. Not anymore.

If you actually listen to what Andrew Webster said,”Nick told him a deal hadn’t been done” which can mean many other things..
Just because a deal hasn’t been done doesn’t mean the Club aren’t after him..

Webster also mentioned the Roosters were $1.03 odds to sign DCE..

Why would there even be a betting market on this?

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
