All our attack is based around the other members of the spine, most of the time Smith looks lost as to what his role is.
What? Robbo can't get a player to play to his full potential! I am shocked.
To be fair Smith has been very poor since his big 2021 season which was influenced by the over the top stupid 6 again and high tackle sin bin rules, a lot of players who had high success levels that year haven't gotten back to that level. He's out of his depth at hooker and Smith being poor in this very critical role has been a big factor in the roller coaster that has been our attack and then Smith being a dickhead just amplifies the feeling of wasted money if he was a dickhead who played to a high level of football or just an ordinary personality with his current game I doubt there'd be desperation to get rid of him.

What were you seeing from him as a member of the spine in Melbourne that you're not seeing from him at the Roosters?

And when you say Robinson struggles to get players to play at their potential what are you basing that on? We've seen countless players leave the club and fail to reach the same levels of performance at other clubs. Michael Jennings, Aiden Guerra, Sam Moa, Isaac Liu, Blake Ferguson, Zane Tetevano & Latrell Mitchell spring to mind.

And when you weigh up the majority of our big signings - Sonny Bill Williams, James Maloney, Luke Keary, James Tedesco, Cooper Cronk & Brandon Smith I think our strike rate has been pretty good in terms of getting our value for money and getting them to play to their potential.

Just curious as to what you're looking at to have come to that conclusion.

I get what you are saying but he comes across as a smart guy. He's been there for nearly twenty years.

I doubt he would have just been given the gig based on his loyalty as a player. Nick doesn't appoint dropkicks to run his business. The only one I can think of is Brad Fittler.

We all bleed red white and blue but far out the club has been making some crappy decisions lately.

    Just frustrating.

I agree with this 100%. Robinson is losing his way.

Pretty sure that was said in Weedler’s ‘scoop’s column about the whole situation. He suggested Boyd and Jake contributed and backed Aubo in the decision.

Agree. When you consider Verrills was also locked up long term on a good value deal and whose biggest crime was picking up some injuries. Smith was an extra 200k a season and hadn't played 80min at hooker more than a handful of times makes it truly baffling.

True panic signing from Robbo and will go down as an abject failure unless Smith pulls out the best footy of his career for about 6 games next season and we go deep into finals.

So rooster fans here slagging off Jake Aubo and Boyd following a low level journo click bait story. Chammas the one needing criticism not club legends.

Yep, I don’t want to hate on Aubo, but I don’t understand his appointment to this role either, I asked in another thread if any of Aubo,Boyd,Friend have any credentials to take these roles? Or are we just following the broncos in appointing a bunch of past players into the system and hope an old boys club, just works?
