Was that hotel room incident a bad look for the club?

wong isn’t a front rower and when Lindsey and Leniu play origin who is left?
    Fair points.

If I were to try and guess what Robbo is going with here it would be that we have Lindsay and Spencer starting with a rotation of Whyte, Wong and Nat Butcher covering up front and the 13 with Egan Butcher rotating up front or in the back row with DLS Va'a next off the rank in that extended bench spot with Xavier Va'a possibly also in the extended bench and those guys likely filling in during the origin period, that's a total of 8 players that can/will rotate between about 5 spots and then eventually we will get Watson back in the 13 which also limits the rotation.

Robbo loves the Butchers and they aren't going anywhere, they are both all effort and we know that Robbo loves these type of guys they'll be a mainstay throughout 2025. I just think they've decided on Wong, Whyte and Va'a x 2 as the long term future and they want to give those more playing time especially Wong and Whyte and even though May is good they're probably factoring in age and contract length in to the decision.

    He wasn't off contract.

In fact he just signed a new deal with us! Do you think we'd let Sammy Walker leave in 5 months if he turned around and said he wants more money? I don't think so!

If indeed it’s true and the Club is trying to offload players for cap space, surely May remains over the Butcher. bros?!?

Hope the Club knows what they are doing..
The club is not trying to offload players for salary cap space.

I'm really not sure why people can't see that we are going to give other youngsters a chance over a guy who is going to turn 26 in a couple of months and can negotiate with rival clubs in 12 months time. If he has a great season 2025 there was a chance he would leave us anyway and I wouldn't mind betting that's also played a part in the decision.
But we would still get 2 great seasons from him on minimal $ for a bargain so it still would be fine
and then let the Vaa bros take over 2027

Gee this club has lost some gloss with recruitment/retainment the last few years
Prop in his prime about to play origin and we had him for a bargain
was worth way more then $450k
Not like a Napa situation where we realised we overpaid and tried to move him on
the playing group is off it

Still not a fan of this move
May will pocket a lot more $ but shows how well we extended him for 2 years on $450k we had a bargain
now he will get $670k roughly at tigers over 3 seasons
allready lost 5 of the 17. Now 6 which is concerning as if Spencer and Lindsay play Origin we have Whyte and maybe rookie Vaa bros or two scary butcher bros in the front row
and up to $4m of players gone with only one Marky N signing and little on the market
and walker and cheese missing the start of the year that 8 of the 17 gone with 1 signing
