Terrell is at a ripe age to hit his prime, has enough FG games now that its obvious he would have clubs chasing him, so why not negotiate a deal with another club upon his release for a player in return. He went to the Tigers, ok slim pickings there and realistically, they wouldn't part with Api or Galvin - but surely there is a young player or First grader about to come off contract that could have moved the other way.

Just seems odd - we could have had some leverage there to get something in return
What are your thoughts on a transfer fee system just like the EPL?

I'm surprised V'landys isn't all over it as he could tax it and punters could also bet on it.

Didn’t he also say he wanted play closer to home. He got extra $ and plays for the Tigers. And his timing to talk publicly that he had lost interest in the game often did make our club think twice about keeping him.

    Not quite the point though
if we let every mid 20s old particularly anyone with a couple of years to go on their contract do we let Marky N, dom young, Billy smith, rads, Angus, Lindsay, Leniu, all go as well as they are all off contract in the next few years?
and allow the next potential 20 year old kid to take their spot on potential?

My problem with this situation is that May's been honest about footy not being the most part of his life. Is there actually a problem with this?

I can relate as 'being a lawyer' is not the most important thing in my life (as much as my employer wishes it was). I have no experience with our culture but would flag it as being a burnout risk if people are being criticised for switching off when they're not in the 'office'. Attitude / disciplinary issues... fine, sack 'em. This May style 'not 100% committed' stuff doesn't sit easy with me when the squad's low on manpower and there's few viable alternatives.
Exactly you need commitment but you also need talent
    no one is on 24/7
Send a gun front rower packing and replace him with no one
while we have allready lost 5 key players
and staring the year with another 2 on the sidelines making it 8 from the 17 not available from 2024 and no one to sign

Was it a breaking news story? Faaaaark no, it was blown out of proportion by idiots like you on social media…

    Come on mate.

issues here is Spencer is not a great starter, and that leaves no full time front rower on the bench with Whyte who can play lock or edge and Wong who would be better playing in the backrow then edge
loosing $4m of the cap - not sure how we will fill it atm

If I were to try and guess what Robbo is going with here it would be that we have Lindsay and Spencer starting with a rotation of Whyte, Wong and Nat Butcher covering up front and the 13 with Egan Butcher rotating up front or in the back row with DLS Va'a next off the rank in that extended bench spot with Xavier Va'a possibly also in the extended bench and those guys likely filling in during the origin period, that's a total of 8 players that can/will rotate between about 5 spots and then eventually we will get Watson back in the 13 which also limits the rotation.

Robbo loves the Butchers and they aren't going anywhere, they are both all effort and we know that Robbo loves these type of guys they'll be a mainstay throughout 2025. I just think they've decided on Wong, Whyte and Va'a x 2 as the long term future and they want to give those more playing time especially Wong and Whyte and even though May is good they're probably factoring in age and contract length in to the decision.

Yes clearly most likely, throw Steep into the engine room, and we aren't looking too bad.

I would say “yes” because it was just another distraction that we didn’t need
