May only re-signed with the Roosters in April of this year and has two years to run on his current deal.

He is due to be a Roosters player until at least the end of 2026.

But The Sydney Morning Herald are now reporting he has been asked by the Roosters to find a new club for 2025, with the tri-colours looking to clear salary cap space to make a full scale tilt on the transfer market for 2026 and beyond.

It's also being reported that Roosters powerbrokers don't believe May is the correct fit for the vision of the club.

this changes our front row completely as we will now have to start Whyte or Leniu which didn’t work for Leniu
and then either have a rookie Vaa on the bench and no cover beyond that and or a potential bench of Leniu / Whyte as the only front row cover and then Nat butch, Wong or Egan as the other bench forwards
we all of a sudden look short in the front row unless we replace

Ya... in a world where we're already short of halves and backs? Sigh. I was hoping that our forwards would be our saving grace.

Must've been a major fallout, not necessarily something he's done but maybe he's had a fight with Robbo or management over his role and told the club to FO. Not sure.
