  • Go Melbourne!

I’m sick of all the BS Westie/battler/fibro narrative.

The Sattler tackle on Byrne gets repeated ad nauseum on tv, but anyone who’s played RL or Union will know it is the most overrated tackle in history.

Munster is a grub, but Melbourne have a smaller junior base than even us. They’re runaway minor premiers and deserve it.

    So go Melba.

Sydney Roosters have one of largest junior bases of the Sydney based teams taking into account the over 7000 Juniors on the Central Coast.

Penrith will be too clinical for Melbourne and will do a Boa Constrictor on them

Would have to agree with you on this point,Melbourne with little junior base buy players with hidden talents and are able to unleash these talent which comes down to a great coaching staff.
We have so much talent coming through the roosters juniors but we seem not to be able to help them take that next step and final step in there careers as fg football players,

From a BS Westie/battler/fibro resident (you realise Roosters fans don't only come from bondi), Go the panthers.

Victoria refused to acknowledge the AFL grandfinal was Bris v Syd, referring to the GF as south Melbourne v Fitzroy.

Melbourne (victoria) can far cough. Keep the premiership in League Territory

            I love you fellow Rooster.

And as I type they just showed that effin overrated tackle of the century, Danika Mason talking about it, and I just read about it in an SMH article about Ray Warren.

            Gaaarrrrhhh I’m going nuts.

              Just on that tackle,
              1. It was on Sattlers right shoulder not left. I’ve seen Cordner do plenty of flying tackles on his left shoulder, which is much harder to do. 90% chance they’re both right handed.
              2. Byrne had already tripped up so he wasn’t at full pace.
              3. Byrne was one of the slowest wingers around.
              4. It was in pouring rain. This usually slows down the faster man more than the slower man.
              5. Sattler was one of the fastest forwards around.
              6. Byrne was about 15kg lighter than Sattler.
              7. Sattler came in more from the side than behind.

If that was Jonah Lomu or Eric Grothe or Mark Harris that was tackled, then that’s something, but it was skinny Toddy Byrne in the pouring rain.

Sure Bruce would not use this own name on this site.

This could be the very thinking that makes players use their real name

Yes indeed. But it would've had to be a beautiful lly timed over the shoulder on his left arm in the driving rain. It could have been the grand final try of the century !
