    BYD (EVs from China)
Aus operations owned by Eagers, Nick owns a big piece of that Dealer Group. That’s my guess.

Chinese car maker BYD has launched the next stage of its campaign to unseat Tesla as the number one EV brand in Australia, delivering its first Seal sedan at a newly opened service facility in Mascot, Sydney.

And the electric sedan’s first customer knows a thing or two about cars. Sydney Roosters chairman and car industry mogul Nick Politis was handed the first set of Seal keys by BYD’s Asia Pacific general manager of sales, Liu Xueliang.

Politis, Australia’s best known car dealer, tipped the brand to become a sales force in the local market.

“The fact that they’re on track to become the biggest EV company in the world speaks for itself,” he said.

Politis also has a vested interest in the company’s success through the AP Eagers dealer group, which has a retail joint venture with BYD importer EV Direct.

“I wanted an electric car and they’re so well priced,” he said.

Yes, exactly the noise these 'dodgem cars' as i refer to them, make instead of the rev and power of petrol cars.

Cant stand electric cars and even more pissed off that the authorities and greenies are mandating them

Yes, just the other day I was stopped by the authorities and told to surrender my V8 muscle car and exchange it for a Nissan Leaf. It’s political correctness gone mad, I tell you!

Seriously, if it is BYD and it is, as rumoured, the biggest jersey sponsorship ever, I don’t think your personal transportation preferences really matter.

The new sponsor is BYD or an affiliate as anyone can see - I think they could lose Hyundai as a sponsor though

I couldn't give a flying you know what, if Stilletos became a sponsor....sponsorship at any level is the lifeblood of sport.

You can take the piss at the expense of others but, it sux being dictated by woke politicians who insist by 2035 we'll all be humming along in EV's.

I hope we aren’t sponsored by a Chinese car.

It's human advancement - the same as when the horse and cart was replaced by the motor vehicle and when computers came in replacing manual paper work tasks.

You use eftpos/mobile phone apps and the internet etc to withdraw money and pay bills and purchase items I assume - you should be going to your bank and or stores for this instead if you think that way.

Oil suppliers have a defined time span so alternative technologies would be required eventually.

                            Absolutely Gman.

EV's are nothing but fire bug prone IPad's on wheels.

The govmint has been telling us for yrs to minimize air con consumption in summer to ease the pressure on the grid. And now let's plug everything into that same grid including cars which are hundreds of times more power hungry. Dumb and woke as fark.

Prepares for major blackouts in the future.

I ignore you for good reason you muppet.

You're as annoying and unwelcome as chewing gum under one's shoes.
