Manu binned, Young with a Hammie and Collins/Rads HIA'd. Cobspiracy theories aside, I think legit events burned us (plus poor goalline defence when it counted) and we still won.

Happy to take the 2 and then take the bye.
Very happy and relieved to get the win. It was hard earned but the closeness was our very poor defence letting in soft tries and yet another sin bin. These hard fought games are great preparation for the finals. Dolphins are a very good team with arguably the best coach in the comp so well done but a lot needs fixing.

      • Sutton and Klein hate us like nothing else and they penalise us with impunity because the media and the rest of the NRL community hate us too. Please, any ref but these 2 Easts hating imbeciles.

        • To be as charitable as possible, it was only two weeks ago that the Panthers conceded 4 Try’s to the Dolphins, and only won because of a miracle field goal. In fairness, we only conceded one additional Try, and were playing with 12 and basically no bench for the last 10.

          • As always - a win is a win. Great.

But gee we have some problems. Our power game down highway 1 has disappeared - and our defense is on the nose.

Keary is so off his game. Brandon Smith dead set offers nothing, you don't even notice him. Spencer and Connor seem to be a bit tired in the legs after Origin.

IMO, referee Sutton had no impact on the game.

Before the Storm game I thought we were the best team in the comp. I am wrong.

Dam shame JWH and Jennings still have another game to sit out.

Anyway rest up over the bye - and come back pumped and strong ROOSTERS.

            • East's remaining matches are against teams outside the top 8 (they are currently 16th, 14th, 9th and 15th).

Including the bye, is it too much to wish that they win all of them and possibly jag 2nd pozzie - which would require Penrith losing 2 of the remaining matches?

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

              • We have a 1 in 100 chance of beating Penrith or Melbourne and a 1 in 1000 chance if either Klein or Sutton is refereeing.

                • Our team find a way to win despite playing poorly and again a very dubious sin bin… they really need the Bye.. our defence fell off a cliff!

                    • Not the roosters style defence we crave but this dolphins are a very good team and they nearly beat Penrith until the iceman beat them in golden point.

we had injuries tonight, dumb penalties, a sin bin and every reason to lose tonight but thankfully our special half back turned up with a Masterclass with the ball, with the boot and in desperation. This is the game that tells me Sammy Walker needs to be retained, this is his team now pay the kid what he’s worth

Panthers rested all their origin players in that game, not really comparable.
