Huge yes from me, Suaalii and Manu are gone, Billy Smith is only averaging 5.7 games a year due to his injuries, a 37 year old Jennings probably won't be re-signed for next season and if he is you'd hope he'd be playing less than this year. Who does that leave? Rookies lead by Pauga who isn't amazing anyway.
Holmes has won a grand final, World Cup, Origin series' and can play anywhere in the backline, goal kick and even slot field goals if need be. He'd instantly become our second or third best back at the club and would bring in a great amount of experience which we'll definitely need as we're losing 800ish games of experience next year.

The main reason that the Cows have tapped Val on the shoulder is because he's taking up a big chunk of their salary cap and Jason Taumalolo ain't going anywhere, anytime soon with his $1mill per year contract with them until the end of 2027. They've got a bit of talent coming through, plus balancing the cap are all factors. Yes, his form has been shithouse for 2024 but he's better than Gagai.
Heard on "SEN 1170 Sydney" this morning that Cowboys are looking at bringing back Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow up North from Redcliffe because he's starting to become "home sick" and as a insurance cover for the Dolphins, they have extended Trai Fuller. So, another reason the Cows would be willing to let Val go is because for bit less $$$ they could get someone younger, faster and with more X-Factor (The Hammer) as Val's replacement.

I'd pay $600K just because he provides coverage for any backline position, is a handy centre which we a desperate for and can goal kick (and field goals). However I think the Dragons will eclipse that by a substantial margin. Wouldn't be surprised to see them throw $900K - $1M.

Excellent player but wasnt he on close to 1 mil on his last contract?
Given Robbo has stated numerous times that we aren't in the market for outside backs at high price ranges, I don't think Val would be someone we go for. He'd be commanding the same if not more than Lomax was.
I would be happy to see him RWB though.
