Trust me he has been terrible, only reason he got picked for Origin this year was because of injuries to Coates and Cobbo.

He constantly drops the ball like one of SKD's worst days, his defence is almost non-existent and his goal kicking has also gone south. Since his drama at the end of last year he has been a shell of the player he once was.

He's already won a comp in 2016 so that's a professional tick for him. I think at his age (29) now it's either make as much money as you can whilst remaining in Aus or head over to the Super League and get paid well, play in an easy comp and have the opportunity to travel/explore.

Though I do get it and maybe having a chat to Brett Morris might do Val some good but in this day and age, money talks !

Please God NO!! He has been complete dog sh!t for the Cowboys and Qld this year and should be in reserve grade. Living in Townsville even most Cows fans are keen to get rid of him.

Remember the early 2000's when we bought all the crap Bulldog players? We don't want a repeat of that again. I would much rather give some of young guys a shot and see how they go.

I would say yes.. can cover centre and wing on both sides, and he seems a likeable guy.

This year he’s down on form, but age wise, he’s still in his prime. Imagine if he rediscovered his form just like Angus had.. he would be a great addition.

Signing and playing him would just waste time to develop players like Marky Mark and Toia who could contribute more meaningfully than Holmes nowadays barring a form resurgence. He was picked for Origin cause Billy has that whole shtick about picking and sticking with his boys. Been poor for the Cows and the fact that they’re willing to offload him and take a big chunk of his salary I think says plenty about where he is at as a player these days.

He can play both sides plays left for cowboys and played right in origin and World Cup
this is the issue otherwise we don’t as Marky n has huge potential but new to nrl, Billy injuries and toia injuries and a rookie
