Easy.

Sign Sam for $150-200k a season and play him as a back up winger in case we have any injuries to our starting wingers. He is worth it if we can get him for this sort of money. He is a NZ rep and although he isnt brilliant, he is a reliable player and will be a good mentor for the younger guys coming through.

If we keep him, then we get the little brother.

P.s we should still have enough money to go after a star winger. I dont see the point in buying SBW, we have a huge amount of backrowers already. We are in need of a try scoring machine!!! Use that money to sign one!

$150K-$200K is the most any club should pay for a winger. If you pay that for a back up and then buy a star Winger (presumably on a lot more) then that is serious cap mismanagement.

We haven't been able to solve the left winger issue for a few years now, not sure why we want to put ourselves in even deeper shit by not offering Perrett a contract and having 2 wing positions to fill. Defensively he's strong - rarely ever makes poor defensive reads and that's tough outside Skidsy, he makes great metres for us every week & I also think he's an adequate finisher just doesn't get a whole lot of opportunities.

His brother is irrelevant, Perrett deserves a contract on his own merits imo.

When put in 2 on 1 position he usually does back tract and wait for inside cover to come across, it's not ideal but generally he's let down by poor defensive reads inside him and it's certainly opposed to rushing up and taking no one like Uate did for NSW on a few occasions and so many other wingers do every week.
