Sure he may be a loss but Sandon Smith and Walker are the immediate future. It’s a bit of a domino, we keep Hugo, what then happens to Toby Rodwell who is another and maybe more highly rated half.

While people are going on about Ethan Strange, the reality is he would not have got a start in our team with Keary, Walker and Sandon Smith. Even when we were short last year we played Hutchinson over some rookie.

Yes all players not in our best 17 and not expected to be for next game against parra unless any injuries occur between now or then
some good depth though
sandon smith needs some good 80 min game time for a few weeks and not just coming off the bench for 15min in nrl

The injury toll in senior reps is pretty extensive so NRL players playing NSW Cup is not unexpected one has to say.

Whether they play will depend on how the SOO players pull up after Wednesday's game.

It's a real interesting one, he's been highly rated for a long time and next year really feels like a year of transition which will present opportunities to some lower grade players.

But at the same time it's probably just as likely that he gets stuck behind Toby Rodwell and Jake Elliott having to fight it out for a reserve grade spot, which for him personally there is a much clearer path to first grade at the Titans.

There is always a bit of FOMO when a good youngster departs but I think it's a real positive that we are so stacked with young talent that we have to lose a few.

Something a club like the Storm have been so good at for so long. You almost forget that players like James Maloney, Cody Walker, Scott Drinkwater and Nathan Friend who would make a pretty healthy spine were all pinched from the Melbourne lower grade system.

Talented players leaving whilst talented players also remain is signs of a healthy and thriving talent identification and development system.

I feel more positive about our pathways systems than I have in a long time.
