  • Where were you?

I'm in the way home from Brookie now (after a few beers)and have to say our support there was embarrassing. Theres been more threads set up about the game than Roosters fans at the game.
The ironic thing is that Manly are known as not travelling, yet today I reckon there was no more than 800 Roosters fans at the game. I went with my Roosters mate and Manly mate and have to say I was embarrassed with our turnout. Where were you all?

I travelled to Brookie for the first time today and fair dinkum what do you expect? Unless you live down the road it's a horrible venue to go to for an away game. I rocked up 10 mins into the 20s game and was struggling to find a park close to the ground at that time. Although I did eventually find the $10 parking in the school around the corner. To get a seat undercover you have to pay 60 bucks which is ludicrous. Brookvale with always be 90/10 crowd percentage ground. I thought the Roosters fans there were there today on the hill side did an awesome job of spurring the team on.

I was at home in QLD, but I will be there for the return game in June.

Mate, obviously I'm referring to Sydney based fans, I got there by public transport from Cronulla and I'm no superfan. Souths, dogs or Dragons would have had at least 7000 there.

So having been there, you must agree it was a shocking turnout by us!

Just because supporters cant or dont get to ever away game in Sydney doesnt make them any less of a supporter.

I've been supporting this team for nearly 40 years & I used to go to all the away games (or as many as i possibly could). These days personal circumstance dont allow me to get to many away games, & no i didnt go today. Does this make me or any other supporter who didnt go today less passionate about there team? No, i think not.

Dont be so quick to judge.

I am a die hard fan, travel the length of Qld to see the boys play when they are up here. Seems to be getting less times each year.
I know you ment Sydney people, but we need to get as many fans to all our games and support the boys.

Look, I understand all that and know not everyone can get to games, however I reckon Im being generous by saying that there were 800 Roosters at the game. I also note that nobody has defended our support at the game, just said they couldnt make it.

When I get to work tomorrow, I'll get the usual 'you've got no fans' routine, and for the first time I'll have no answer. Out if all Sydney teams, only Penrith would have brought less today.
