Look you are not wrong about his defence but there have been successful sides with shite defensive wingers who had less x factor than Young does.

He is and will never be a Toops style player who is error free and defensively sound. We knew what we were getting and anyone who thought elsewise was only ever going to be disappointed.

It’s all about the outcome in today’s game and unfortunately Young hit him right on the sweet spot and he was out cold. You will see that exact tackle multiple times with less punishment because the attacking player isn’t concussed.

Same with Radley, not even a hint of a hip drop but because player stays down and grabs their ankle it’s a penalty/sin bin.

Once you stop trying to make sense of the action and realise the officials are now told to rule on outcomes it will make a lot more sense.
