I'm a bit 50/50 on it, the positive side is that Jennings has almost 300 games in the NRL, has played for Australia and NSW, won premierships etc, that kind of experience for our younger first graders and NSW Cup teams is great to have and if he does get a run in first grade he has that experience. Also, as others have said the money is right and if he's making 50-70k a year he is almost no risk to have.

The negative side is how is his body now? 36 year old centres aren't particularly common, would he be able to handle a young superstar centre trying to carve him up if need be? Could he still be an attacking force? Is he a better option than Allan and Momirovski who he'd presumably be replacing in our depth?

whilst I like giving players second chances I feel awkward about this signing and question is he the calibre of character to be around this club.

    am I being too harsh?
He was sued for rape but from the little blurb I'm reading never charged criminally? A lot of these well known people don't actually do anything but if he was guilty of rape and all of that and it was proven not just a settlement then I'm with you that he probably shouldn't be in the NRL.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Jenkos inclusion is interesting. I think he might be here to help educate the jnr fellas on what not to do.and to share his journey. The losses the wins managing life etc

I hope the Chooks get Pearcey on board to mentor the young blokes.

Good to see the club bringing back former players who have had success with the club even if it is minor roles, this is the stuff that creates a tight club culture

Plus side... maybe the steroids and 3 years away from footy fully healed his body and he's in better shape than when he was 32-33?

I think Jennings is a lot better than Momo and Allan for depth.

Strange one but given he will likely only see first grade footy in an injury crisis, it's a good idea.

Article today Jennings has been cleared to resume his NRL career with us ....

Exiled premiership-winner Michael Jennings has been cleared by the NRL to take up a new contract with the Roosters.

It was revealed last week the Chooks were preparing to give Jennings a lifeline, with the strike centre having served his three-year doping ban.

Channel 9 journalist Danny Weidler on Monday first reported the NRL has now cleared the deal for Jennings to take up a train and trial contract for 2024.

It has been three years since Jennings last played in the league after he was stood down by Parramatta over a positive doping test in 2021.

The Roosters are well stocked at centre with Joey Manu and Joseph Suaalii the starting pair, but both are entering the final years of their deals and Jennings could play a role if injuries strike in the outside backs.

Jaxson Paulo (Sea Eagles), Paul Momirovski (Leeds Rhinos) and Corey Allan have both left the Roosters after 2023, which has opened up some squad spots out wide.

Jennings wants to return to rugby league and finish his career on his own terms.

                  .....
