I've done the trek when aged 60 and it's no walk in the park. Yes , I was v fit, but the high altitude and 65km each way and so many ups and downs makes it really tough even if you have Sherpas or yaks carrying your gear. At altitude most in my group of 16 got high altitude sick , you struggle to breathe and feel like you are drowning without oxygen. I met Trent at a high altitude gym where you can train in an oxygen reduced room. Good luck to him for doing something worthwhile for humanity...raising money for brain cancer. It's his free time , 4 months before the next season gets underway. Spare the criticism!
It takes a special kind of self-centered jerk to begrudge a guy giving his limited free time to raise money for a worthwhile charity.
Congratualtions on a new low.
People who give up their time for charity raising always choose an activity that they themselves have an ambition to achieve. Find me someone who'll swim in raw sewage to raise money for bowel cancer, then I'll applaud.
Yes. Coach Robinson needs to be punished. He needs to sit in the naughty corner for two months while his players are on leave. Instead he’s selfishly drawing attention to himself by participating in a publicity stunt for charity.

Stop deflecting. It's his free time and he can do what he likes with it. Whether you you approve of his activities during his downtime is irrelevant. And even if he is doing something that he personally wanted to achieve, he is using his profile to raise money for charity while doing so - and yet you find fault with that? Get over yourself.

Such a bottom feeding child. You are an sbsolute fool.
We've all lost loved ones to cancer, I've had it myself. Raising money for a cure is great but things like climbing Everest or doing the Kokoda trail is just a wanky thing that rich Eastern suburbs people do to impress their wanky social sets. I laughed the other day when that marathon runner ran around Australia for the idiotic voice, how did that turn out? If people want to donate to causes, they'll just do it, they don't need to see people doing these stupid things to make them donate. Robinson's main priority should be the Roosters, that's what he should be concentrating on.
My 3rd cousin, an experienced mountain climber, died whilst on a trekking holiday in Nepal in April 2019. I'd only met him for the first time about 6 months earlier.
It's a high risk pastime and I'd hate for anything to happen to Robinson while he was on the mountain.

So when you are concentrating on your main job Ray, do you allow yourself the time to do other things as well? Odd jobs around the house, join a club, play a sport, watch the mighty chooks, look after the grandkids, travel, listen to music, go to the gym?
The trek is being undertaken during the break period, when players are also on annual leave. - The Group are due to return to Australia on October 28
It's a bit ridiculous to say the coaching staff should be working on player combos and improving the start of the season and week-in-week out consistency over the season when they would be the only ones at the training sessions.
Pre-season has a lot to do with fitness and, firstly, achieving a fitness base that can be maintained throughout the season.
See below for a link to the Titans pre-season program: One assumes this would be similar to what other clubs undertake.

I recall that the players not involved in the international matches are due back for pre-season training on November 13; Coach Robinson is back in Australia on October 28 after this charity trek.
So there is no issue with his involvement at all—just the usual suspects trying to white-ant Coach Robinson.
