We need some luck our way with injuries, like Riff have had. Keep our best 17 fit for the business end of the season and learn to adapt our game in the modern era. There is no world where Penrith should be a stronger team than the mighty Roosters and if I sound elitist, I am!! We are the most prestigious club in the league. Sort it out Trent.
Not wishing them bad luck but Penrith ALMOST lost the GF (IMO but for some really stupid kicking options... hey boys... he's gonna kick it left and go for that hack where they get the ball back!!!) They were looking defeated and I saw a lot of strapping on tired players' limbs. 15 minutes of absolute brilliance from Cleary then got them back into the contest... JUST! Only just.

We were disappointed this season because we SHOULD have been far more competitive. It was unfortunate that Andersen got injured, Lodge went feral and Cheese/Walker were injured for 1/2 the season. However towards the back end of the season we were more competitive than the Warriors and Knights IMO.

For 2024 we'll need to lift our standards AGAIN. I reckon Penrith looked beatable and Brisbane won't continue their form beyond 2023 though. Wahs? Good luck. We need to assert ourselves!

Leniu will be here to prove himself as a starter I think, he and Collins will get the nod to start next year with JWH moved to the bench with May. Hopefully Leniu shows that he isn't a one team wonder like other Panthers, Roosters, Storm players have done in the past.

Not so sure about that one.

Next year the Broncos lose Flegler and Farnworth, those are considerable losses. They've signed Baker from us but I wouldn't put Baker near Flegler's level to be honest, don't know who will come in and replace Farnworth for them but he's pretty great as well. Reynolds will also be a year older which at his age means some decline.

I'd say top 4 teams on paper for 2024 would be us, Broncos, Penrith and Storm. For mine we're second behind Penrith.

My fear for 2024 is that apart from young we lack speed, especially through the spine.
Riff lose Crichton and that will hurt. Broncos have it in Mam and Walsh but lose Herbie

He came on,gave away a penalty which led to Broncos first try,so yes he'll fit in well with East's, giving away penalties.....what a waste of $s

Why the need to belittle everyone? If that’s what he thinks then good luck to him. You must be one lonely friendless miserable loser.

Leniu is still a baby for an NRL prop. He just turned 23, and is almost a year younger than Baker. He looks pretty good for his age as far as I'm concerned.

He will learn to play bigger minutes when he has the chance to string half a season together where he plays bigger minutes. Playing behind Leota & JFH, how much do think he is going to be used? He will be damn good for us, mark my words. One year of apprenticeship under Jaz, and then by '25 he will be ready to rip.

                      I rate him!

I reckon he has more to offer than his current bit part.

The recurring word I feel around all your posts is 'sad'... I pity you.

'Better team on paper' is irellevant to results unless the team are harmonious and are tight knit. We saw that earlier in the season.

Penrith are stronger than us right now, that is just the way it is. It will turn, but not yet.

'Irrelevant as you can in the last few premiership races' - not really, we've been featuring in the finals. This year we got very unlucky through big outs through injuries and a couple of horrific ref calls in our last game.
Prestigious club meaning what the word prestigious means. The benchmark, the most successful, the most historic, the special club that we are.... why do you support the club if you don't feel this? Glamour club is a patronising nickname used by media. I'm not using nicknames, I believe us to be the most prestigious.

Best team on paper does not equate to best team on the pitch but it tells you the talent is there. Penriff are stronger than us right now, but they shouldn't be. This is the attitude to have.

We have been irrelevant. How many big games have Penrith had to beat us in on their way to 3 in a row? I recall them beating us in the qualifying 1 v 4 final in 2020 but they didn't win it that year. We've been beaten in either Week 1 or Week 2 of finals throughout their reign. That isn't good enough. Definitely have been some reasons as to why. 2021 injuries being a primary example. Others being self imposed. To me that's irrelevant. Melbourne lost their premiership status after 2020 but the Riff had to beat them in 2 prelims along the way.

Good job on missing the point of the post entirely chief..

The entire point of my post is that we are 'miles off Penriff', have been irrelevant in the title challenge the entire time they've been on top and that despite having a great team on paper, they are better than us but that we need to change that.

Speaking of Sam Moa, he has just left his assistant coaching role (Defense) at Catalans and is returning to Australia.

Be interesting to see if he ends up back with us
