How do you see him working out for us? He needs to sort out on field issues with JWH which I can see happening.
do you see him being just another bench player or starting and will he ever become an enforcer?

I think he’s a decent bench man at best at the moment. He may develop into a starter and could handle it now if required.

He’s definitely an above average player I just hope he has another few gears.

More important to pay attention to what Ivan Cleary thinks of him. Effectively, three stints of 8 mins, 10 mins, and 4 mins. Was subbed off immediately after Panthers hit the lead.

I hope he has some upside because he's just a battering ram right now.
Runs hard for sure, but no step and no offload.
He needs to get a lot better and play more minutes.

Playing in a gun team at the moment. We're quite a few lengths behind the Panthers. Looks largely ineffective when he has been asked to play longer minutes. Like others, I see him as a bench forward at best

Wild to think that most this forum believe he's coming to play off the bench. Even more wild that there is a belief we're paying north of 500K for a bench player. Even more insane to think Leinu would leave 3 rings in a row, his whole livelihood, and mates, to join our club who haven't been able to lace Penrith's boots since 2020. They still offered him relatively close money to what we threw up. There was definitely a good conversation between him and Trent, and I am supremely confident there was the starting front row position alongside Collins thrown upon him for his signature.

The thing with Penriff is they can shed blokes like Api, Kikau and no dramas they got depth, a big nursery and pathways.
So Crichton I guess will be a loss but somehow they'll just have no dramas
Leinu isn't as big a loss to then but hopefully a decent gain for us (with more minutes)

Have to wait and see in whether the right decision was made in signing Leniu and not re-signing Baker

IMO you can't pick who's gonna win the premiership 'next year' and Penrith will soon (if not already) be in a position where it's forced to make a LOT of difficult recruitment decisions.

As an Easts fan I reckon we have more to offer him long-term than Penrith do. He's gonna play with Collins, May, Wong, Butcher, Rads, Crichton, Cheese and Sitili which is a mad forward rotation. Add to that a backline of Teddy, Manu, Toops, Young, Sua'ali'i and Smith. We're farking good if we can pull it all together!!!

2024 will be a big year and I don't think guys like Cheese, Young and Spencer will be disappointed that they've signed with us. Can't wait to see them firing... others... don't be too disappointed when we beat teams like Penrith, Brisbane and Melbourne in 2024.

They are trained on playing this grind game style from junior reps, so they are grind-ready when they progress to playing NRL.

Penrith's grind game style is not reliant on the individual; it's a team style of play, and all players know their role, so players can be readily replaced when they leave, as has been shown over the past few years with the players they have lost.

Either other teams copy this style or find a way to combat it with their own style.

Parramatta and even last night with Brisbane showed the way that Penrith can be beaten—keeping the ball in play—but of course you need to have your house in order in D as well and play an 80-minute game.
