Is it because of their historic victory over Poland that they figured he wasn't needed?
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

$500K is probably his market value at the moment. A desperate team like the Tigers, Dragons or Dogs May pay $800K, but based on recent form that is well overs.

I'd want $800k to run around with those chumps too

Agree, I would even do something that I'm dead against and the club chip in a few dollars to release him early so we don't lose any of our young blokes to keep them.

Who would take him, every club knows of his struggles. We are stuck with him.

If he's staying it's not the worst thing in the world.
He'll be a handy player off the bench, good defence.
Others will have to be a little more patient.

I struggle to find a spot for him in the 17, a very expensive reserve grader.

46-6 loss to Wales.....nah they don't need any help.

Given our record with injuries, unless things change with our training and the way we play, he wouldn't be in reserve grade for long.

There seems to be discontent in world of RU with the large sums of money going out the door, with not much coming in.
Also, seems to be outrage from players in the schoolboys at the money being paid out to current plays and in particular Suaalii, with 'none' left for them.

I think you might be onto something.

For a while they were able to cover-up for their lack of skill by having Izzy run 70m every time he touched the ball.

We're simply not in the contest. I dunno why but IMO a lot of it probably comes down to a lack of talent in the forwards/playmakers. Now why would you bother committing to those positions when the comp's gonna through every last penny it's got at League wingers?

Yawnion should just fold and give its IP to League as a relic of where the modern game came from.

I can understand that, but there isn't a player playing rugby in Australia at the moment that is worth decent money. If they were any good league would be chasing them. Union get the scraps after league and AFL snap up the decent athletes

It wasn't Poland. It was world rugby powerhouse Portugal.
