Panthers have climbed the summit so many times and I think the basis of this team arent done yet.
2019 was a pretty good game as well.

    • With the try from the short kick Cobbo? Got both hands to it uncontested and battered it back. Plus the 2 points from the next one. Kick it long and back your D.

Really is remarkable.! 36/37 completed sets.

What is the big difference between the west & the east in terms of ball handling/ mistakes??

        The air?.. the water?,...the temperature?

Spencer doesn’t offer a lot imo. Plays ok but small mins and the drop in dominance with JFH and especially Leota off, is noticeable. Seen a few panthers leave and not look the same outside Penrith and I get a feeling scary eyes might be the same. Hope I am wrong.

Certainly in the middle of winter we won't, but we would have won that Grand Final pretty comfortably tonight as Penrith's defence was awful - gave up 6 linebreaks and missed 63 tackles against a side that committed 11 errors! - we would have put 40 on them (and the Broncos should have too) if they defended like that against us in those conditions.

I consider this a bizarre grand final rather than a great one, defensively it was very poor (both teams missed well over 50 tackles each) and the teams weren't even at all other than it being a 2 point win come full-time. If the Broncos committed half the errors they win by 20, if the Panthers could defend then the Broncos struggle to score and they win by 20, just a weird game. I will say it frustrates me we can't get every match ref'd like that, 6 infringements all game when there were countless more than could have been pulled up......****ing game managers.

Souffs never let him be sole conductor of the orchestra but instead that grub outside of him Cody and of late, Lardtrell.

              • Reynolds would be disappointed with his performance.

An experienced halfback of his Calibre should be able to get his team home with such a big lead.

                • Penrith should be firm premiership favourites in 2024

                  • Still in disbelief that the Bronx lost that. Felt like they lost it more than Penrith won, they just fell off a cliff after 55mins and it turned into a slow motion car crash.

It’s like the teams headspace went to Mad Monday. They just stopped playing footy- offensively and defensively. They had zero line speed.

Great for us but any neutral will nominate those 3 above the pack clearly.

                        • I can't agree with the 'put the whistle away for a GF'. Penrith should have had about 5 or 6 6A against them in the first half and they were offside all the time in the first half. As someone said, ref would have called at least 3 6A against us if it was us in the first half alone.

Refs certainly don't put the whistle away when Easts are in the GF.

                          2018: Penalties Melbourne 10, Easts 7 (Refs Sutton/Klein)
                          2019: Penalties Canberra 7 Easts 5 (Refs Cummins/Sutton)

We still beat the opposition and the Axis of Evil.

Agree about Spencer mate. However very excited we got the signature of big Dom Young.

It’s hard to tell. Most other teams he probably would start. The Panthers have an Immortal starting forward line up which he is behind. I think he’ll go good for us, although we probably will have to wait to the middle of the season to really determine this
                                EASTS TO WIN!
