Certainly in the middle of winter we won't, but we would have won that Grand Final pretty comfortably tonight as Penrith's defence was awful - gave up 6 linebreaks and missed 63 tackles against a side that committed 11 errors! - we would have put 40 on them (and the Broncos should have too) if they defended like that against us in those conditions.

I consider this a bizarre grand final rather than a great one, defensively it was very poor (both teams missed well over 50 tackles each) and the teams weren't even at all other than it being a 2 point win come full-time. If the Broncos committed half the errors they win by 20, if the Panthers could defend then the Broncos struggle to score and they win by 20, just a weird game. I will say it frustrates me we can't get every match ref'd like that, 6 infringements all game when there were countless more than could have been pulled up......****ing game managers.

so , ok we would have put 40 on the best defensive team in the comp , and 3 x premiers .....yet we haven't scored 40 all year? ...

Hahaha the delusion on this website is incredible we would have beaten Penrith comfortably? Penrith's defence "wasn't as good as it usually is" because Brisbane are an elite team one of the best attacking teams in the competition our team who had 40 put on them both times by Penrith and haven't beaten them since Mitchell Aubusson last played for us would not have won that game. Our last 4 games against Penrith have resulted in a combined 40 points scored and you think we would have matched that tonight

It was an odd game
both sides missed some bad tackles for some soft tries to be scored
Penrith just capatalised better on Bronsos mistakes
bronsos should have won from 24 to 8 up but started playing not to loose
Walsh was a little jenkle and Hyde but he will learn from that
broncos may be like Penrith in 2020 - need to loose one to win one

He is incredible. What he did to the Eels in the first 20 mins of the GF actually had me wincing at home. Parra didn’t play that badly. They were just belted into submission by him and JFH.

Disagree, we are taylor made for dry and fast conditions with minimal referee interference, Penrith are not. Tedesco, Keary and Cheese would have torn Penrith to shreds in that 2nd half, it would have been filthy. I am highly critical of our general season play, it's unreliable for winning games that aren't in dry and fast conditions with excessive referee interference but there's a reason why we are 3 wins from 3 appearances in Grand Finals under Robbo......he prepares his teams to peak in October, the Broncos would have been a far harder team for us to beat than Penrith last night.

Do agree with chook2 also, Broncos are red hot favourites as it stands for next season - their back 5 are still raw, as long as they stay motivated and relatively injury free it's hard to see a better team for 2024.

I kinda blame the loss on Walters or Reynolds .When they were in front 24 to 8 with about 21 mins to go the broncos started walking and stopped chasing. The first half defensively gassed them.They got the chance to kick fir goal after a penalty but chose ti run it instead..said at the time stupidest choice and might cost them..would have been better off soaking the 5 mins up with a break reset and go...all momentum shifted after that fark up.

Gee whiz, 2015 would have been a very bitter pill to swallow for Brisbane, however last night’s last 20minutes was exactly how to throw a game away they were carving the riff up, they relaxed complacency kicked in started laying down feigning/acting for penalties that was where it went down hill and before you knew it was game over.

Some Grand final losses take a long time to overcome that one would bloody sting.

Amazing Grand final it was probably the best I’ve ever seen as much as sucks to to see Penrith overtake us as the best modern era team you have to admire and stand in awe of how well they play dominate time in possession, discipline and just 100 miles an hour from start to finish.
Nathan Cleary is a once a generation player can almost throw him in immortal conversations the way he dragged Penrith out of the fire last night when his two staring pigs came on was nothing short the greatest individual performance clutch play after clutch play never panicked. Gee whiz I’d love for him to do this at Origin then the topic of immortal can be discussed amazing performance by him and that Penrith side.

Broncos lose Fleggler & Herbie Farnworth to the Dolphins which will weaken them.They have been 2 of their best this year.

Panthers lose Crichton & Spencer which will hopefully weaken them....but I thought that about Korisau & Kikau this year.

We get stronger with some good additions.
