You better leave town then if the Brisbane Lions win the AFL flag as well.

Tough one as I hate the Broncos and am getting sick of the Riff. But since the Riff are from NSW I think I would prefer they win. Maybe. It should be a great game though.

We heard plenty of that during last years off season. Not falling for it.

Personally I have nothing but admiration for their brand of footy.
Cancerous is a bit harsh on them but I'm not a fan haha. I just feel their game takes away a lot of the skill and unpredictability of footy. It also takes a lot of the attrition away. Basically impossible now to win games whilst conceding lots of penalties or hitting on the counter after soaking up tryline pressure.

They are just super robotic. One out, quick play the ball, right hand shift, try... They win games with their fitness and discipline not so much skill and plays that break the game open. It's dull and predictable to me.

Credit to them though. Theyve managed the use of the 6 again rule better than anyone and I admire their consistency. They never seem to play a bad game. I tip my hat to that.

People may say Penrith are purely a pressure side with their grind game of dominating yardage and possession, but they are up there as an attacking side to go with being the number 1 defensive side the past 4 years.

This season, they were number 1 in both attack and defence at the end of the regular season.

So a team can be both without it being detrimental to either part of their game.

                Penrith since 2020

                2020

2nd in attack and number 1 in defence

                2021

4th in attack and number 1 in defence

                2022

2nd in attack and number 1 in defence

                2023

1st in attack and number 1 in defence

I hate night footy, and am always advocating for the good old days of a daytime granny. But tomorrow it's going to be late 30s in the sunlit hours which is just too hot for footy. I pity the prelim games playing in those conditions.

Since we repeated on the back of Cronks radar boot the grand finalists have had the advantage of the kicking games of Cleary, Hughes, Moses and Reynolds.
We are at a massive disadvantage whilst Walker and Keary are our main kickers because we lose so much in the arm wrestle.

                      Blind Freddy could see that.

it’s why we need a Burton in our side.

2003 was the year I started watching footy, I got into it rather late (aged 13) and the first game I watched was roosters vs parra in round 1 and I fell in love with the chooks and rugby league instantly.. it was a wild ride as I wasn’t aware when I started supporting them that they were the reigning champs but long story short that years GF was my first time experiencing a GF and I remember everyone supporting the riff leading In and copping it from everyone of my mates and even the media seemed to be on their side… that GF was heart breaking and I have never forgotten that feeling. I will forever hate Penrith because of it.. the first heartbreak always stings most I guess.

Albeit they have more talent than most teams, he set up a place where players not only want to be, but they also put in when the going gets tough.
Yeah, I actually like Kevie Walters a lot.

One of the few Queenslandaars who just seems like a genuine good bloke, and is not a tosser or a primate.

I'd like to see them win it for him.

Panthers have had their glory. And their egoistic antics after their last grand final win really turned me off them big time.

The Broncos can beat Penrith if they get the offloads going plus Kevin Walters would have the blue print off Queensland on how to limit Clearys impact on the game.

                              Broncos to win

This Tallis Duncan kid looks a real prospect. Curious to watch what happens with him given Cam Murray ain’t moving from 13.
