Of course you couldn't remember the last time Sam done anything with the ball in his hands before last weekend, but i'll let that slide.
    I completely agree with this.

He is one of the worst readers of defence i have ever seen. He is constantly getting turned inside out when all he has to do is come up and in.

He gives me a farrken heart attack everytime someone bombs to his corner. He either stands there and waits for something to happen or comes flying in at a million miles an hour and usually miss times his jump.

Fark me Greedy, I'm sure you're inside my head, as I think the same way.

If anyone is in any doubt, go back and look at the Knights game around the 13th minute. The Knights are on the attack and as the ball goes out towards the wing Perrett is running back towards our line looking over his shoulder. The whole time I was yelling "he's not chasing you, turn around and tackle him you imbecile!!" Thankfully they threw the ball over the side and danger was averted.

If he was just slow I could live with that, but he is diabolical in defence, dodgy under the high ball, and out of nowhere will come up with an absolute clanger and then wants to hi-5 the the rest of the team.

If we can replace him with another winger who is tall, fast and at least decent in defence then the team will be so much better off.

Kenny-Dowall completely misread that play mate. I think you're hatred is starting to blind you a little bit. When SKD comes up Perrett has to follow him which he did. Problem is SKD didn't tackle his man or even force him to pass, he just let him stroll straight past him. Everytime SKD misses Perrett has to turn and chase to cover for him. Defending two on one is not exactly easy when your opposition is past your inside defender completely and you're forced to stall and stick with your winger til cover arrives. I can't really see who the alternative is to Perrett either. I'm an Adam Henry fan but despite his advantages in speed, second phase and front on defence, he would cop it on here so much from short-sighted supporters because he pushes the pass more than BJ and makes more mistakes. He also turns and chases very slow in comparison to Perrett, who does save a few tries in this fashion, often covering for a poor SKD read. Daniel Tupou has been very impressive for Newtown. Not sure that's he really any quicker than Perrett but he makes great metres from dummy half and is excellent under the high ball. Hard to judge his finishing cos the last ditch desperation in defence in State Cup is nowhere near that of NRL. Also he is a pretty average defender in my opinion. What would you suggest the alternative is?

Perrett would not get a run in Melbourne. O'neill and Duffie are both much better strike wingers.

Lets face it. Perrett's strike rate for a winger is horrible. Any winger can run from dummy half, if given instructions. Utai was a big metre eater at Wests.

A wingers main job is to score. Unfortunately Sammy cannot do that.

To see what we're getting next year, I suspect. Anasta has already left in most of our eyes.

                          Hey Yak,

You make some very valid points, and I don't hate Perrett as he is a top shelf clubman and human being, I just don't rate him as a footballer.

Personally I am a fan of Adam Henry myself, and would like to see him in the top grade to see how he goes. I mean most other clubs are willing to drop under performing veterans and give their youngsters a go, but regardless of how bad Perrett plays he is never dropped.

It might be that none of our back up wingers are any good and we might need to go into the market place to find someone. Personally I would have liked to have signed Michael Robertson when he was still in the NRL with Manly as he was very quick, solid in defence, excellent under the high ball and could fill in really well at fullback.

But I would like to see what Adam Henry has to offer....

the thing with Pez's low strike rate is that he plays outside SKD. If Shaun (and to a lesser extend Maubs) is scoring all the tries down the right side then Perrett doesn't get a chance to score

                              Hey guys.

Pretty impressive analysis of the Warriors strengths and weakness's. On Ropati at Fullback : for some weird reason i cant explain , the guy plays his best football there, rock solid under the high ball and tackles not too bad either , as a center his form this year has sucked.

Hurrell has had fitness issues , mainly due to the way he goes at 110 % on every run , last week he found some rhythm and he's one to watch for sure.

Biggest loss this week for us is Nathan Freind , just when our forwards were hitting their straps he cops a broken Jaw.....for this reason the player that concerns me the most is JWH.
If he goes Nuclear on our pack again the way it fired up the others in your squad saw the Warriors pack get owned. Without Friends tackling and direction....JWH and his mates could see most of the game being played in our half.
FPN was the other wrecking ball, its a shame he's out from a purist point of view.

As for our edge defense ( Vatuvie / Tupou / Hurrell / Henry ) most teams target us there. Eighty percent of Warriors training last week was spent on edge defense.....I think if they didn't repeat that tactic at training this week then they are asking for it.

It will be an epic contest I'm sure ......too even across the park for either club to feel overly confident....and the History of seesaw battles....suggests that from a warriors point of view..it will take more than a get square mentality to compete.

therein lies a fault in your argument. SKD is down Perrett's side. SKD scores pretty much all of them when we go that side.

The only way you can judge Perrett is by how many trys he flunks when he has an adequate opportunity to score. And TBH, i don't remember him f***ng up all that often, if anything at all recently.

I don't get the Perrett hate. Put him in any other team and he'd be better than he is at ours IMO.

It's just how our team plays and the fact that SKD is somewhat of a hog with the ball in hand - a given
