Isn't that what the likes of Sandon Smith & Connor Watson are for?

Take Suaalii who is at his best running into open spaces, he struggled at centre when he was running into contact and needed to be running lines for his ball players. Billy Smith on the other hand is far more naturally comfortable running into contact. It just is fundamentally a very different position to wing and the skills required are not easily transferable from one position to the other.
I couldn’t agree more with these comments. Billy is in the top two centres at our club and I love the way he plays the game.

Barring injury Billy Smith will be our left centre for some time. And rightly so.

            What if...
Suaalii flips on his Union contract (as social media is allegedly reporting)?

Do we, will we be able to, want to...keep him if that happens?
If not he could end up at Souths.

            Much drama at Union atm.
His contract money, many people say, should've been used to fund a whole junior comp.
Union seems to be in utter turmoil after the loss by the Wallabies.

find it hard to believe dont think he is gonna take a 700,000 pay cut to flip

Kez was on NRL360 last night and was asked about Joe. He said he expects 2024 will be his last year then off to Rugby. However, also said he thinks he'll be back.

I think Watson is more of a lock that has utility value.

Sandon Smith is obviously being picked on the bench as a pure utility yes but depending on the make up of the side he doesn't cover injuries to the 3/4 line which is when Robinson has opted for an outside back on the bench.

Have you all lost your memories? Has the last four seasons taught you nothing?

Once we have our mandatory 6-7 injuries it will just be a case of pick whoever is fit.

Not only is the pay cut an issue for him, we don’t have $700k in our cap waiting for Suaalii to change his mind. We’d have to release one star or a few others to accommodate him. I think the plan is that he’ll be back to be Teddy’s long-term replacement.

Team selection debates on a team that is historically riddled with injuries seems a little pointless doesn’t it?

Maybe he's been told the fullback spot is his after Teddy retires.

Next coq that suggests Suaalii plays in the centres next season should be banned for a month.

Unfortunately there is still a pecking order and if Teddy, Toops, Young, Manu and Suaalii are fit then Billy Smith will unfortunately be playing Reggies.

Billy and his manager are aware of this plus he's currently on peanuts so they are keeping their options open.
