On top of that his flick pass when we were peppering the Storm line which ended up in Christian Welch intercepting and running 50 metres wasn’t good enough..

Hopefully he learns from games like that and comes back a more polished player next year!
I thought he was pretty average too. I reckon his knee and ankle might have had something to do with it.

    • 3pts - Vic
      2pts - T May
      1 pt - Kez

Thought it was a lock in quinella for our best two on ground. Could have went either Vic or Terrell. And Kez busted a gut trying to ignite our patchwork backline...and damned near pulled off a win for the ages.

This one will sting for a while.

        That offside definitely hurt!

Meaney was clearly best on field.

          • I still don’t understand the constant bombing to Nick Meaney at the end of sets last night,he didn’t drop one..

Surely a spiral bomb here or there or a kick to one of the wingers every now and then would’ve been a good change, and maybe netted a different result..

What’s that old saying,”If you keep doing the same thing you keep getting the same results”..

              I'm only rating our team.

I will say that, although Meaney had a good game, his performance was over estimated with the bomb diffusals as I would have caught most of our uncontested "baby bombs".

The definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

glad he finally admitted this and wants change
wonder if he has had some pressure on him internally?
mentioned we need to improve next year
only thing he didn’t admit was some poor form from his coaching selecting errors
Coach Robinson won't use injuries and a host of players not in great nick form-wise as an excuse, but those two were telling statistics throughout the season.

Not able to field their probable best 17 as a combo at least once during the season as well

Only one player in Luke Keary played all games this season

1/3 or so of their best probable 17 unavailable last night
                      • Manu
                      • Suaalii
                      • Billy Smith

As I said, if they can have a light injury run, then things will improve as there will be strong competition for places in the 17 each week which due to injuries has not always been the case for the past few years.

2024 will be a big year, so get on board the Robbo Rooster Express.

They always talk about hang time with general field defensive kicks enabling the defence to get down field in numbers to keep the opposition pinned in their own 20.

Not sure I have even seen Sam Walker and or Luke Keary ever do such kicks - Not sure every kicker has the skills to do such kicks ?

It also depends on where you start and end your sets in what type of kick it is - General field Defensive kick and or a Offensive /Attacking Kick .

The Roosters average set distance last night was 38 metres, so very few times an offensive or attacking kick would have been an option. So the General Field Defensive Kick was the main one.

The 5 in a row premiership wins - average set distance (metres)
                        • Manly 39
                        • Dolphins - 44
                        • Parramatta - 48
                        • Wests Tigers - 43
                        • Souths - 44
                        vs Sharks - 38

Penrith's defence for an example limits the opposition yardage ( average set distance) so when they kick it's a defensive kick

Penrith retrieve the ball and are close to or in the opposition's half on the first tackle so as a result are more often than most teams in the position for an offensive/attacking kick at the end of their sets.

You must have Ashley Klein posters all over your bedroom walls.
You Wayne Kerrs now get to spend the next 6 months talking about how bad the team and the coach are have it you got the result you truly wanted.

                          • NRL not happy about "vile abuse of Klein on social media".

Seems fans are sick and tired of "circus music and streamers" refereeing decisions costing their teams victory.

It's way too late in history for apologies.
                            "I'm sorry" doesn't wash anymore.

Don't want vile abuse on social media?
Seems the best thing to do would be to referee the matches fairly, competently, without fear or favour.

Simpleton do you truly believe any supporter of any team wants there team to loose . Some have seen and even Robbo in his press conference said the complaints were warranted .

The NRL are aiding & abetting incompetence by constantly picking this guy who is very inept at his job.

What do they expect with their stupid 6 again rule which can be used by refs without any scrutiny.
