So proud of the boys tonight. A lot to be hopeful for for next season I can tell you. That Grant incident was a hard and bitter pill to swallow. Klein apologied for making the mistake. Good to see Corey Parker so passionate.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Tonight we have an opportunity to beat a really decent team and stamp our mark on this competition. Forget about them last week. They will be a totally different proposition tonight. We need high completion rates and better discipline. We need to dominate them in the forwards. Even with 2-5 out, we aren’t inferior to them in these positions.
Plus a win gets Jarred a seat on the plane to Vegas. Do it for the man who’s done so much for our club.

GO THE MIGHTY ROOSTERS!

One of the more heartbreaking losses in recent times. Clutch play from them. I thought we were the better team but I wouldn't be blaming the Klown for the result. He was abysmal but he was abysmal for both sides. Grant is a little princess but it was a penalty every day of the week. Lazy arm, hits him high. Should've been a pen and an awful way to go out.
The dropped ball was an absolute joke. The fact he is 2m away and looking directly at it makes you wonder how on earth he is employed as a match official. I think he is just a terrible referre full stop and not fit to ref an NRL game. Melbourne had a right to feel dudded aswell if we ended up winning by 1pt.
We played better than them but we also gave ourselves opportunities to lose the game. Sadly, it was 2 of our fill ins who are not first graders so shouldn't be judged like first graders. Allan with the hairbrain 6 again when they were on the 5th play about 2m from the sideline and 40m out... then Pauga, who has been awesome for us, getting outleaped was never going to beat Warbrick in the air, needed to let him catch it and try and hold him up without contesting it. Is what it is. Fine margins. We've beaten them in big games, probably the first time they've gotten one over us in a big one.
Let's hope we improve next year, so much to work on but the young blokes like May, Sandon, Billy Smith, Wong have been awesome and can only get better. Add Young and Spencer to the mix, will be good.
Also farewell to Fletcher Baker who I reckon has shown plenty in the last couple months. Will be a great player for the Broncos sadly. Missed the boat on that one.

As I said earlier the Roosters needed to score 3 or 4 tries to win this game and their D to hold up.
2 Tries almost did the job.
They had some half chances at times but the ball carrier lacked players in support to progress the play and possible turn these chances into points.
One of those KPI's Coaches love - push supports - something the Roosters need to work on
Easier to defend against one out plays than defending against a ball carriers/runners who has decoys and players in support as they can distract and or engage other defenders.
Interesting stat tonight was 17 off loads - Season average was 8.4 off loads per game

So many times we had a ball runner get an arm free, look around and see nobody around. Very disappointing as it was these high energy support plays that our attack was built off not too long ago.

I’m glad robbo actually came into the presser and admitted we play for premierships and we weren’t up to scratch this year! Admitted our last run only covered up the really poor start and middle of the year
glad he finally admitted this and wants change
wonder if he has had some pressure on him internally?
mentioned we need to improve next year
only thing he didn’t admit was some poor form from his coaching selecting errors
