We won’t taste any success until we learn to start the season better and reduce our injury toll. These are known shortcomings and have been for years yet as a club we continue replaying these season upon season.

My expectations are pretty high because I’m still of the firm belief we have a squad capable of premiership. I know others disagree but I think our recruitment/retention is top notch and if all players were available and played consistent footy together we could give the panthers/Bronx a decent run.

Premiership window opportunities don’t open for long, so when you miss them it hurts.
OMG, I have heard this from other people. "but don’t forget we are only in finals because of luck. Other games went our way.'

That is how a ladder works, you win games and other teams lose, that is how you go up the ladder.

    It is very simple.

We are in the finals because we deserve it.

I am enjoying the ride, I think Penrith and Brisbane are way in front but you just never know.

At the end of the day we have had a very disrupted season, way to many injuries and some form slump. Sh!t happens.

Really looking forward to to the game tomorrow, go the Chooks!

Ever thought you hear it frequently because it’s true? Souths and the Cowboys imploded in poor fashion to gift us a finals spot. Not saying we didn’t deserve it, but we had things go our way to get here. I just believe we are better than that and should’ve secured a top 4 finish.

You have to consider our squad. Many judges had us as a good chance of winning the comp. If at the start of the season you would have said we’d not make a prelim, you would have to consider this a failure.

We are all on a high after our event form (apart from Ray) but really we should have finished top 2 and earned this weekend off.

If we win tomorrow night I would consider that a successful year.

If we lose tomorrow, I will say it's a pass mark based on our injury list.

Had I we lost tonight or prior to the second week with a close to a full-strength team it would have been a failure

Let's win one more and see what happens.

Spot on. I’ve said it the last 3 years, but we need to ‘click’ earlier next season and chalk up some wins nice and early.

Exactly. I’ve listened to others say “oh it’s only round one” or this and that but while we are saying it’s only round one, someone else is claiming 2 points.

Early wins are a massive leg up to a good season.

I’m of the opinion of you make it to the GF Qualifier the season is an over all success even if there are still areas for betterment.

I’d say by getting to where we have after the train wreck our season was 2 months ago we’ve on many ways salvaged the season even if we are to lose tomorrow night

I think in these terms, it's a very arbitrary way of looking at it.

We may have been premiership favourites with the bookies, but that doesn't technically mean anything. Even if we had played to potential all year, it would still be very tough to beat the Broncos or Penrith based on how they've gone.

If we get to a prelim, having beaten the Sharks and Melbourne (both at home) with stacks of players out, I call it a success. Bearing in mind Brandon missed lots of games, Toops missed lots of games, Watson has been gone all season, Sitili missed half the season etc. All of that stuff is very disruptive.

I more or less give the season a passmark from here, but as I said if we make a prelim after all these injuires, being written off weeks ago, winning on guts and determination while playing away from home, I'll definitely consider it a success.

For mine, making the GF qualifier would make this season a success.

I understand everyone wants to win a GF but let’s be honest, there are some very very good sides all competing for that same goal. If we could be in the top 4, eg playing a GF qualifier from where we’ve been this season, I think that’s a great result.

On the other hand, losing tomorrow night would not only hurt for the individual loss but would have to be considered somewhat of a failure for 2023.
Final four finish is a success based on we’re we have been at this season.

I think a pass mark just, still under achieved though compared to where we were predicted
All though robbo has done well to turn the season around just our first 5 months were pretty shit tbh, if we missed finals would have been a failure so we have been saved by a good late run again like last season! Robbo would admit he had a big part of the failed start to the year players Guys out of position for months and overthinking the game! Our attack was non existent and defence well below normal standards

this season if we loose has finished okay but that’s about it
we need to start a season better

injureies you can’t help and have again played us this year

Yes it is true, other teams lose and we win that moves the Roosters up the ladder.
                            Glad you agree.

I do agree. But the point is we are a better club than having to rely on certain teams to lose certain games, just to slip into the top 8 at the very last minute.

We won more games that we lost.....JUST
Our for and aganst this year was 225 WORSE than last year.....
                                that's more than 9 points PER GAME......WORSE,
we LOST 2 more games during the season proper this year than we did last year.
So there have been reasons to be disappointed.
With our roster, coach and facilities we were expected to do better.
Top 4 at least, with a second chance and a home final.

If we win this week then we make the final 4 so that has to be considered a successful season realistically.
We could and should have done better by finishing the regular season in the top 4 and given ourselves the week off if we won our first final.
No real point in going over what might have been, but we lost at least 3 games we should have won.

Right now we are still a chance, and the boys we have running out are making me proud to be a lifelong Roosters fan.
