Thirteen is a good man, and one of the most loyal and passionate Easts people I've ever met.

Anyway, none us are oil paintings (except maybe Mickie Lane).

I’m a little surprised with this considering the emergence of Sandton Smith as a bench utility..

Surely we won’t be carrying him and Watson off the bench next year?!?

Could explain his game last night. Playing for a contract will do that

              Mega rich and pretty?

Jeez... if that was me, I wouldn't be spending my time slapping people around on an internet forum.

                In terms of confirmation

                The quote from Buzz is:

"The Roosters — aware Pearce was heading for retirement — have instead locked in Connor Watson to play the bench-utility role.
It’s a big signing for the Roosters as Watson had big-money offers from both Canterbury Bulldogs and Wests Tigers. He has signed for the Roosters for another two years."

                Sounds pretty sure of himself

If Connor Watson staying means Pearce doesn't come back then I'll welcome his continued employment with the Roosters.

What a shot in the arm for Watson, he gets an extension after Pearce knocks back his 14 utility spot.
                      great for his confidence

Is that at the beginning of Benjamin Button or the end

Moderately wealthy and ugly Brad Pitt 2023 is closer. I don't drag my knuckles like Mouthbreather 13 though.

I see Watson exclusively as a middle forward. Smith would be my 14

Interesting to see who and how Trent uses the forwards next year. Apart from Jared, Collins and Leniu in rotation, it’s anyone’s guess.

Yes I agree to an extent, I don’t think Watson and Sandon Smith are in competition for the same spot. If anything I actually think it’s potentially Brandon Smith & Watson competing for the same role.

Although with Watson on the bench you do have the option to play a full forward bench as Watson provides genuine injury cover in the spine and centres at a pinch.

Personally for mine I would move Nat Butcher moves into the starting prop role next year. His defensive work rate is off the charts and he’s an underrated ball carrier.

Our issue next year if we play Watson and a hooker/half on the bench is that one of the forwards will miss out.

                                9. Cheese
                                10. Collins
                                11. E Butcher
                                12. N Butcher
                                13. Radley

                                14. S Smith / Turpin / Hutch
                                15. Watson
                                16. Crighton
                                17. Leniu

Means Tupouniua would miss out. I'd assume he would be in our best 17 when fully fit.

Also thought Brown, May and Whyte have all impressed this season despite the results.

May had a massive game vs Fins. He seems like one of those forwards who doesnt impress if given limited minutes, but the longer he is on the field the stronger he gets.
Watson has been re-signed as a 14, the bench will be him plus 3 forwards.
