We need to build a big team, ...big, powerful, muscular- mass forwards who can bust tackles, and drag players with them over the try line from 10 metres out.
Big muscular wingers who stay on their wings and "throw opposition wingers over the fence" when they come down the line. Souths Johnston for example, now he strolls over for tries almost every game, no one there to stop him.

Ditto centres...we lost to Manly because we had no one big and strong enough to tackle centre Parker.

Currently we do not have a 'star-studded team'.
We have a team of rookies and rookies +, with a few stars added.

I wouldn't waste next season on Suaalii, he made his decision, we need to build a team for the future.

Dom Young is age 21, 200cm and 107kg...that's a start.

I'd be making signing Turpin a priority as we need his defense around the middle

You all know that no club can be at the top every year..in fact like Man U it makes for a dull comp.

The Phoenix Chook will rise again if we recruit wise and get back to basics that we've lost.

The team we have now can't even play the ball properly, pass and catch properly, most of the time.
Like I've said here before...we need to hose the ball and grass at training, train the players, all of them to catch bombs and grubbers.

No way Trent was ever going to make top 4 with the players he had this season...injuries etc see his team not even making the 8.
They're just not premiership winning standard.

Time to start treating the NRL and its refs with total disdain, if what was dished up to us this year continues next season.
Storm were offside all night, "we was 'robbed' ".
Our draw / the draw this year is a total joke...to start with.
Where is OUR "home ground advantage"?
Our Club, and our players, are way too nice.
"The Roosters Way" needs serious modification.

          Coaches: any.
Players: Radley, Keary, Butcher (either), Suaalii, B.Smith (x 2), Hutchison, Momorovski, Allan, Crichton etc.

Pleading for a centre who has the ability to do anything other than just miss tackles. Billy is a liability, not only in defence, but offers nothing in attack. Has no pace. May as well put Hutchison in his spot, he would be a like for like replacement. Look at how good the centres are nowadays and what they can offer to a team. Can break a game open. Tago, Graham, Farmnworth, Best, Holmes, Penisini etc. I can count on one hand the amount of games Keary has taken over for us the past 3-4 years. Weak kicking game, typically scared to take on the line since the head knocks, void of leadership. Walker needs to be given the keys next season, but has to be paired with a bigger half, who can direct, and build pressure. 2RF’s who are more than a tackling bag. Look at players like Nikora, Horsburgh, Fifita, Sorensen, Matterson, Olakau’atu. They are main focal points in attacks. Hard lines, great offload, good agility, big boys. We’re so far behind with our 2RF’s other than Sitili. Front rowers who can bend a line but can throw a ball out the back. Tino, Haas, JFH, Paseka, Nelson etc.

So effectively a clean out. Every component of that team needs fixing. It can’t happen overnight. Which is concerning considering the plight of this club over the past few years, and how long it will take to get us back to some semblance of a competitive team. But whatever it takes i’d guess. Wishful thinking that this is fixed quickly, but if you or Politis believe we can keep the same/similar roster and compete next year, let alone the next 3-4 years, you’re borderline delusional.

This club went from being the benchmark, to having a combined 4-20 record against Penrith, Souths, and Melbourne since 2020. Change is needed.
2020 early, was when "rugby league" was killed off and replaced by "rugba leeg", one ref instead of two...six agains galore...etc.
Our players were recruited and trained for "rugby league".
We still haven't recovered from the retirement of Cordner, Friend, Aubusson, BMoz, JMoz, Cronk, ...and the loss of Liu and SST.
Can't just go out and buy replacements for them.

As I remember it, some "teachers pet" teams benefited greatly from the new "rugba leeg" rules, six agains especially.

I agree. I can't stand "rugba leeg" but we are stuck with it. As you mentioned "our players were recruited and trained for "rugby league". The thing is we are still trained to play "rugby league". Everybody else has moved on except us. I think this is the reason for our slide since 2019. The power defense game just does not work anymore. It leads to penalties, injuries, tiring players and fast play the balls for the opposition. Robbo is too stubborn and too slow to make changes which will be his eventual downfall. We have very good players, who try really hard, playing an outdated type of footy. We'd still be coming around 4th last with those legends you mentioned.

              • In Daily Telegraph online now is an article "Salary of every spine player at every club revealed | Fullback, halfback, five-eighth, & hooker."
by Brent Read, David Riccio, Michael
                Carayannis.
                Very interesting.

                Listed:
                Ponga $1.4m
                Edwards, Panthers $450,000

That's quite a large difference, one might say.

All depends on when Edwards signed that contract - Signed up to 2024 - Would very much doubt that Penrith would be able to sign him again for that amount

                  Penrith Spine

                  Edwards - 450 k
                  Luia - 750 k
                  Cleary - 1.3 million
                  Luke - 300 k

                  2.8 Million

                  Kenny - 350k

                  Jack Cogger - 200 k

                  Roosters Spine

                  Tedesco - 1.1 Million
                  Keary - 800 k
                  Walker - 500 k
                  Brandon Smith - 800 k

                  3.2 Million

                  Turpin - 250- 300 k
