Personally cannot stand that we are having to upskill Suallii for union....I'd be saying doors that way and he's all yours ARU.

Let's see how Sua'ali'i goes at wing. That said, I'd like to be able to focus on players who are staying with us beyond next season. With Teddy, Toops, Manu and Smith all being HUGELY loyal players, I reckon there's an onus on us to prioritise them.

Sua'ali'i hasn't been cr@p, but he's been average! With all the hype/media that he's created for himself by engaging in the big dollar talks with yawnion... you'd expect him to be single handedly carving up oppositions for us. I'm thinking Radradra style freakishness from that season where he'd just pluck the ball outta nowhere and score 80m tries outta nowhere at key moments.

Rightly or wrongly, screw structure/coaching! IMO we signed him to be just that... an unpredictable strike weapon who can shock the opposition like that. Izzy Folau style in yawnion! Surely that's why yawnion are paying the big bucks? An otherwise shyte team with Izzy on the books was guaranteed ~3-5 indefensible runs a game that'd put them back in the contest when they had no right to be there based on the way the team's coached/playing.

As a team that's JUST outside the 8 (amazingly so after soooo many tight losses!!!) we would EASILY be in the 8 if we were getting that sorta value outta him. I'm not blaming him for our predicament as EVERYBODY ELSE should be playing well enough for us to score that 1 extra try against teams like the Merge, Faders, Sharks, Dolphins... heck Panthers when we were down 4-0 for 35 mins!!! We're missing x-factor this season. I dunno whose job it is but based on paycheques I'd be thinking that between Teddy, Cheese, Sua'ali'i, Manu and Keary ... SOMEBODY should be providing us with 1-2 important tries that you CANNOT coach every week. This is Robbo's predicament. We know these guys have it in them, but why aren't they doing it?

To be fair to Manu, he hasn't stuffed us around like 'Trell and Sua'ali'i. Also, his 'form dip' (if one can even call it that) has come from him slotting in at 5/8 when asked. Rightly or wrongly... maybe we need more selfless players like him and Toops... and maybe we need to pay them more? Not saying either are being ripped off but I've seen this same issue at work where racehorses over-sell themselves to get promotions (coming in earning $100-$200k+ more than me) and then expect me to train them. I don't personally appreciate being asked to train people in senior roles. That's when I start working to the latter, using the excuse 'well they're the boss, not me' and applying elsewhere. I imagine that footy players are much the same and if there's no premiership within sight, we're gonna have to get used to the fact we not only can't afford to keep as many stars on our books... we're gonna have to make some difficult calls about who we pull out the chequebook to keep at all costs (and who we don't). Guessing Lodge is one of the first of (possibly many) in that list.

you might be right. there was talk of changing it to june 30 but not sure it happened. there have been a couple of recent media reports talking about an aug 3 deadline

I don't believe we are missing any X factor.
We have many quality players.

The coaching staff & some of their decisions & lack of decisions are the cause this year.

To do well or be competent in anything you need the right preparation & people in place.

What a waste. could have been right up there with the top props in the game, chips on both shoulders fuuked him up.

Huge problem with authority - senior players and coaches. Doesn't deal with it and it continuosly brings him unstuck.

Judging by the fact that the games Lodge played for us this year he looked like he'd swallowed the coach and the training staff you may well be on the money It may be coincidence but since the club got tough with Lodge and showed him the door, Terrell May has played like a man possessed these last few weeks. So either Lodge was responsible for the rumour regarding May falling out with Robbo (likely) or if it was true May has decided that he doesn't want to be next and is playing accordingly. As far as May goes I think he has so much potential and I hope he keeps improving and stays a Rooster.
