    LODGE LATEST

THE Sydney Roosters split with Matt Lodge has taken another twist with the ex-Broncos and Warriors frontrower told he is no longer part of the club’s NRL squad and must spend the rest of the season training and playing with the North Sydney Bears.

We’re tipping a big part of the Lodge issue for the Roosters is his agent Isaac Moses who has had a spectacular bust-up with the Chooks (again) over the handling of the Joseph Suaalii contract negotiations.

Roosters king pin Nick Politis went out of his way to help Moses re-gain his NRL accreditation after being deregistered for 18 months (second time deregistered) but the two are now off for life.

Moses wanted the Roosters to pay out Lodge’s contract for the remainder of the season and let him leave immediately but the club has instead instructed him to train and play with North Sydney Bears.

If true, bearing in mind it’s scoops Hoops telling the story, I say good on you Nick!

God it was funny when so many round these parts naively thought this bloke was going to be our new forward leader last year.

when you leave 1 club ok bad terms, that says nothing. 2? That points to you being a contributor. 3 clubs though? It’s clearly on you now.

good luck to whatever club Moses foists him on next

seems like there was no interest from other clubs before the june 30 deadline

Is this punishing Lodge or Moses though? I thought Lodge was great at the end of last year but has been very disappointing this year and I didn’t want him re-signed. But you gotta feel for him IF what is reported is true and he is collateral and it has nothing to do with his attitude.

Also surely Suaali is released for next year then. I don’t disagree with the clubs position but it’s very double standards to punish Lodge and not Suualli. Not to mention I’m sure I heard Suaalii say in a recent interview that he kept the Roosters well informed during his negotiations with RA. Something is not adding up..

Think it may be hard for him to find a club that’ll take him. It’s not a good look.

Without offending anyone amongst us.....sounds like Moses is a piece of work the way in which he operates.

              Uncle Nick must be fuming.....
Fool me once shame on you

Last year the deadline changed to 1st August.

Has it changed back to 30th June for this year?

                    Ridiculous.
                    Lodge should be playing FG.

that's my understanding - which would be why this story is coming out on june 30

Wonder if seeing young SuuRLeeHee moved back to wing was also due to not appeasing to Moses led clients or based on form.

i would like to think the latter of the 2 and tend to lean that way given he still holds a place in the 17 unlike Lodge.

I for one am disappointed by Lodge, the way he arrived at the club and early signs of his partnership with Jared had me thinking last year and this year could have taken us to new heights along with Lindsay continuing to develop nicely also.

Collins and Lodge truly could have been the future given how he debuted with us.

                        what a difference a season can make…

I mentioned Lodge/Moses the other day.

Lodge turned our season around last year, and now we are doing the opposite.

Cutting our nose to spite our face. Ridiculous.

who knows what he's said behind closed doors and what effect he's having on the playing group. but if he trains the house down and plays well then there'd be nothing to stop him being picked in firsts
