The problem is internal , either player disharmony or the players have lost faith in the coach .
it's a mindset / attitude problem that has spread like a cancer .
Lodge isnt trying anymore now he is gone, he was playing for a contract then
Angus is off the shrooms and looks terrible
Watson isnt there
It might be a similar pack on paper but they are world apart

Together with the service out of dummy half and also constantly being on the defensive backfoot because of our mistakes, our forwards are rooted and look ineffective.

not as much to do with that ..it has been mounting errors and penalties .take 90% of those out and we might win. The Attitude is real bad no care factor in their game .Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

There were a few decent players on the market and we grabbed all budget lemons
You 100% nailed it on the head!

Like 2013 (where IMO many of us assumed we'd have to wait 'till 2014) I think we can turn this around. Is asking forwards to be tougher the way though?
IMO the issue is our attack. At 4-0 we held our Penrith for ~35 minutes and it was looking like we might see a game of footy. However, our inability to score eventually led to a total collapse in our systems.
None of our attacking plays look interesting. When we did win against the Doggies, it was because they were shyte and we punched through their forwards right down the centre of the field. That's not footy, that's sheer luck of the draw against a roster we shoulda beaten 60-0 on paper. We were basically too fit and too strong for a lesser team, though our tactics were ridiculously bad.
How do you fix it? NFI. I think what we're EXPECTING is for the likes of Teddy, Manu, Sua'ali'i and Cheese to be throbbing players down the middle ad-lib. For some reason they're simply not coming up with dazzling plays like they SHOULD be.
I'm not saying he's shyte but down 4-0 against Penrith with ~10 to go in the first half, Manu got the ball ~10m out. He ran forwards, a textbook (relatively early) tackle was made and he was pulled down. This then knocked the air outta us because instead of being up 6-4, we were nowhere.
I have no solutions for this. Our stars just look FLAT and aren't throbbing people with individual brilliance. We look BORING!!! We focus on defending the whole time and it's as if we forget that being up 18-0 at half-time is a better defence than being down 18-0 and having Robbo say 'stick to the Roosters way... Bongdi Wall remember!!!'
IMO part of all this is that rule changes have torn apart the Bondi Wall. The game's intentionally changed such that Robbo's old defensive tactics are directly (and intentionally) being targeted and punished. For this there is no easy solution. Napa's an example of this... he's gone from being an Origin hard man to a reject who's struggling in reggies. They don't like that brand of aggression. Dunno if people watched Cleary's presser but he started off by talking about some JWH/Leniu scuffle (I never saw the scuffle as I switched off). Comparing his perspective to Robbo's was like:
- Robbo: 'oh come oooon!!! Nothing in it!!! Two big boys showing some passion'
- Cleary: 'it was stupid wasn't it... Jared wanted it all game and he found it. There were heaps of other incidents and what was said was unnecessary/disrespectful'
Maybe Robbo can learn from that? Maybe our forwards need to be a bit calmer and cut the cr@p out? I don't think our tactic of intimidation works anymore as nobody feels intimidated by us.

If Bates say's they are a collective pack of pussies then they should be game enough to put this theory to the test.
I think it's fair enough when making such a statement.

Anyone who runs onto that field has my respect.
