Perhaps we need to confide in Hillsong? They'd make a fantastic shorts sponsor.

Brandon Smith had better find some consistent form. Has good speed if he drops some kgs.

I turned my disappointment in losing Verills into excitement for this guy and it's waning.

The injuries haven't helped but I hope he fires at some stage.

Yea he is behind schedule. I wouldn't be getting rid of him though.

Still has plenty to offer in his natural position.

What’s he won there? He was only successful here. If anything, he’s the one who’s gone backwards since he left. Even if he stayed, we still wouldn’t have a premiership over the past few years. That Riff side has just been too damn good.

One player doesn’t make a team, especially a centre who thinks he’s a fullback.

Largely agree with your list except I'd probably give Sandon some slack given he's played about 30mins of footy and was brought on at 20 odd nil.

Keary for me is on the wane big time and should retire at the end of the year.

Just watching the press conference. We were never in the game at any stage, Robbo is either an optimist of delusional. I don’t know who you bring in to replace him, but its time for a change, or the club needs to run a broom stick through the joint.

On current form, Teddy, Tupes, Sitilli & Collins are the only ones out of scope for review.

Sualli’s development has gone backwards. As a centre his defensive reads are awful and he is just a battery ram in attack, nothing more. He is either a winger or send him off to the rah rahs early.

Manu … from Golden Boot winner in 2022 to a player hopelessly out of form that is offering nothing.

Keary … trying hard, but I can’t help but think that maybe he is the problem with the pedestrian attack. The sweeping plays are all to predictable and his pop gun kicking game places the opposition under no pressure and gives us no field position.

Drew … he is either cover for the halves or a reserve grader. He isn’t Aubs and isn’t a utility.

Angus … he’s had well documented issues and it is clear he isn’t anywhere near the player he was.

Rads … needs to sort his discipline issues out, he is now a massive liability. Starting to think that his ball playing is also a hinderance for the pedestrian attack. Pains me to say it, as Rads has been a favourite.

Lodge …. Thought he was our best when he joined us in mid 2022. Another who has fallen off a cliff in 2023.

Harsh on Keary. He’s the only half who does any ball playing. Manu just runs, it’s all up to Keary to create something. If Walker or any legitimate half played with him he’d look a lot more effective.

Teddy was bang average today. Way too sideways again. Probably the only player who tries too hard. Needs to pick his moments better and straighten up. Bulldogs game that’s what he did, and he played well.

Well, I was at the game live. We have no clue in attack, absolutely none. This is the worst we’ve looked since the 2000’s. I’m not on the sack Robbo team yet but geez our tactics have been sub-par.

Agree on Keary. He works his arse off! He is the only player imo that can walk with his head held high. Manu is like a deer in headlights playing in the halves. All the pressure is on Keary!!

I'd take 3 prelims and a gf over our record since 2020.

The ones from our first grade side I'd move on this year and next are as follows:

Billy Smith, Corey Allan, Connor Watson, Daniel Tupou, Drew Hutchison, Jaxson Paulo, Joseph Suaalii, JWH, Luke Keary, Matt Lodge, Trent Robinson

Who do you replace them with? For mine most of the reserve players we're replacing such as Allan, Hutch, Paulo and Smith could be replaced by existing players within our reserve grade team, juniors or cheap players on the market.

That'd leave big money players in JWH, Keary, Suaalii and Tupou, you'd expect this to free up about 2 million in the cap. I'd go into the market for the following:

To replace JWH: Moeaki Fotuaika is off contract and I'd love to have him, haven't watched the Sharks much this year but Toby Rudolf is off contract and he's played some cracker games for the Sharkies, you'd think Francis Molo might come cheap as well, lots of options here.

To replace Keary: This would be my marquee signing and I'd offer a million dollars to Jarome Luai. He's a gamechanger in his prime, current Origin player and he'd be a great signing for us.

To replace Robinson: Looking at the coaches out there the best answer has to be Billy Slater I think which would be super weird and I don't think he'd go for it. Alternatively I'd take Des Hasler with a strong assistant coach like Shane Flanagan

To replace Suaalii: I'd take Moses Suli here I reckon, whenever I watch the Dragons he's usually one of the better players on the field and a good coaching team could probably get the best out of him.

To replace Tupou: We already have with Dom Young (I'm aware he'd have to swap sides but am assuming not a problem)

                          ---

So to summarise, in 2025 I'd be hoping for the Roosters to line up as follows (I welcome any criticism, this is just armchair coaching ofc)

                          1. Tedesco (C) 2. Young 3. Suli 4. Manu 5. Junior Pauga

                          6. Luai 7. Walker

                          8. Fotuaika 9. Smith 10. Collins 11. Tupounuia 12. Crichton 13. Radley

                          14. Leniu 15. Brown (Or another veteran forward) 16. N. Butcher 17. Sandon Smith

                          ---

I don't know for sure this team would go better but it'd be the best spine in the comp by far, a pretty fearsome forward pack and a strong backline as well. That team with a new coach could be very dangerous...

I’d be inclined to agree that Keary is giving it his all, I just think the sweeping block plays are a big part of our problem. I’ve been to both Suncorp games this year, perched up high with an eagle eye view of the attack and you can read our plays a mile away. Whether it is Luke or the tactics from the coach, the attacking game in the NRL has evolved and we haven’t.
