Brilliant kick by Burton and caught us off guard as we were on the other side of the field expecting to defend the short drop out.
It's an area that is really hurting us as the short drop out has reduced the effectiveness of a grubber repeat set in the in goal.
Teams with good drop kickers are an even money chance of regaining possession and we are lagging well behind along with our absence of a long kicking game in general play.
I think Jimmy Dymock as an assistant coach to Hasler at the dogs was the first one to come up with the idea and its had a big impact on the game as it completely changes momentum, giving confidence to the defending team and deflating the attacking side.
Finding a half or 5/8 with a great kicking game has to be our biggest priority.

I saw in a NSW Cup game the defending team take a quick long line drop out when the attacking teams players were still moving into their positions for the short drop out - some with their backs turned walking into positions even

By the time the attacking side retrieved the ball it was 30 metres out from their own try line - 2 or 3 tackles before they got back into the oppositions half.

Doesn't always have to be a short line drop out - practice drilling the ball at the side-line too
