All I remember was that stupid drop-out that went into touch forcing a turnover. Stupid and relatively obscure rule IMO but whatevz. Ya got us I guess [slow clap]
No, that was a brilliant drop out which only a few (Cleary, DCE, Cam Smith) seem to do. Why more teams don’t try this is baffling. Along the ground kick offs in a similar vein would also be a great strategy

They're a good weapon if you can get them right. DCE and Reynolds are slowly mastering them.
I had no problems with the drop out, it looked pretty close but I think it hit the ground. I actually thought that Sutton was in front of Burton when he put the grubber through for their first try but they confirmed it pretty quickly
I know it’s nitpicking but the Burton “drop out”
it looked more like a punt than a drop kick ?
Should have been a penalty to us ?
I thought the same Keith. I don’t think the ball even got close to touching the ground before it hit his boot, which helped it stay low with little bounce upwards.

yeah exactly , if they are not policing it then why don’t we all just start punting it along the ground.
I thought the same thing Keith when I watched the dropout from Burton. I do like that teams are trying different things from kickoffs and dropouts though. Should always make it a contest for possession, or like Burton did, aim to get possession back straight away.
This makes you wonder going forward the value of forcing a repeat set
in the past it was great as you got a 2md chance to attack and could continually force 3 or 4 drop outs in a row
now teams are attacking it with short drop outs to secure the ball
and it ussually works
so is there as much value in forcing a repeat set by kicking in goal and making them drop out like the past or do teams need to try and score off the last play as they may not take the drop out
